Remembering Nothing, being played by something beyond both,
Becoming incensed in the smoke that hides this fire,
Held upon the still-point which needs these crashing wheels, startling eyes and drifting timeless places,
Where the Beloved uses our eyes to look into the mirror,
Recalling this whirling dance which happens only outside the temple walls - and because of them,
Oh Trilochan, why not be like the wind and careless sands who shift & fly & play upon the earth's flesh,
To settle once more,
Learning the lesson that the Sun and the Moon are giving away to the music of their lovemaking?

I found this extremely cool station coming out of the UK which features the whole gamut of didjeridu music from around the planet, including electro-infused artists, more traditional world-fusion approaches and solo players. A few of my new tracks from "Outlaw Dervish" are in rotation, and expecting more to be added as time passes, ENJOY!

" Well you know... I think I could tell you a thing or two... ". What a weekend! Pele's Tears and Outlaw Dervish back to back
at Epic Arts on Saturday and then off to the Ace in the Hole Pub on a sunny Sebastopol Sunday.
As one lovely female fan of the band said ,
"Wow! Really cool, kinda like 'the Doors' in your own living room!"
Many thanks to our amazing friends and community who came out and got dirty with us on Saturday!
We took over the living room parlor at Epic and folks stationed themselves in the varietous parlors
for some sweet shake-downs.
Really appreciating everyone who took a brand-spanking new CD home also!
Hawk, the House Manager commented that he thought our music was refreshing
and some of the best stuff he's heard in a long while,
so Cheers Hawk!
Sunday was a blast as well. We had audience members from California to Oklahoma - How'd that happen!?
We enjoyed some experimental waves on the Triton, a la Samba
and some sweet feedback from folks who're regulars at the Pub,
saying that they have never heard the Didjeridu used the way we're featuring it right now
and that they really liked the grooves and tunes we're laying down.
Was also great fun to have Samantha guest with us
and break out the candle dance and her breath-taking sword dance as well!
We're looking forward to hearing about our core Dancer Papillon's advents up North
trying out for the Belly Dance Superstars...
as well as rejoining her in upcoming performances...
Now it's back to the laboratory to plan some near future shows and listening for some airplay on our beloved local stations :
KPFA, KALX, and SOMA FM.
Thanks Again to Everyone who came out and for those we didn't get to play with this weekend,
Trustin' You had GOOD TIMES...
We'll see YOU and will enjoy Your Presence SOON - Updates on the way!
Much Love,
Travis, Outlaw Dervish and Pele's Tears

The maiden voyage of the new line-up for" Pele's Tears" was a sweet kick in the pants!
I took up the helm in my new role as "Outlaw Dervish" and we dropped tunes from the new CD at this year's Harmony Fest,
at the Goddess Stage (THE spot for all the best local live music at Harmony!).
Once again folks seemed to pop out of the shadows when we started our set and we had the lovely and amazing Papillon doing her sword dance, as well as Brigette from Kaua'i and Spiral who came out all the way from the East Coast to perform.
One of the most exciting moments came when one of the fire wicks flew off of Spiral's Fire Hoop and landed somewhere off to stage left during "No Illusions". I couldn't tell if anyone else saw this happen and as it flew past and behind me I sort of just kept going and hoped that somebody - the fire safety person who ended up being somebody, anybody, nobody - and then, suddenly , Kym Trippsmith the Stage Manager, who doused the thing with her day old coffee! Whew! near tragedy averted... heheh... heheh...
The band and audience had a fab time and Thea Izzi guested on a few tunes doing her lovely female vocal thang, and for me , it felt like we really landed well (so good to be back performing with this group!). Talking to Papillon afterwards, I found out that Parliament/Funkadelic members stopped by on the way to their gig to check us out and in addition to inviting our dancers on stage during their set, said they liked our music. That's a compliment I will take!
It was great to see folks and find out who stopped by to check us out and we all really appreciate the opportunity to share our souls with such an appreciative and sweet audience!
Hope to See You Out There...
next gigs: the CD Release Party at 'Epic Arts' in Berkeley on June 21st and then 'Ace in the Hole' in Gratton on the 22nd!
Look forward to kickin' it with ya! Your Friendly Neighborhood Outlaw Dervish, Travis

Mr. T is one of the most proficient and talented Didgeridoo players in the world, who uses his magic to heal all those he comes in contact with.
It was truly a gift of the Goddess that we met on All Hallow's Eve, back in 2001...blessings my friend...and to many years together into eternity, where we shall be connected-- through music, through Spirit, through Sacred Energy!
