about me
I'm an IT department for a small company (which in my case also involves answering the 'phone, taking orders and gossiping). I'm also an amateur chocolatier (but quite good), have done catering occasionally (veggie), and am a musician (pro, semi-pro or amateur, depending on the gig) - classical & folk-rock genres, timpani, percussion & melodeon - and playing for morris dancing teams around the world (English traditional folk dance) - including The Outside Capering Crew. I'm also a member of our local Community Agriculture Group which owns a couple of farms - we get a share of the produce and can go & work there if we have time.
I've also been a Humanist Funeral Officiant.
I feel a lot younger than a lot of people of my age, which I feel odd - but then when I was 18 I looked & felt a lot older.

There was I, last Wednesday, happily driving along to pick the children up from holiday clum, minding my own business, when some elderly bugger decided I wasn't there at all and drove out of a side road into me.

Came away aching from lugging all the kit around at high speed.
Meanwhile, I've just had an enquiry for The Outside Capering Crew to be the warmup act for Damon Alban's new band The Good, The Bad & T...

This did not make me very happy, but I kept calm. The passenger side doors and frame are both crumpled. The other driver apologised and said "Mea culpa" (latin for 'my fault'). I don't know how badly his car was damaged, and to be honest, don't care.
Anyway, I started a cla...

During Christmastide, I was performing the Stroud Mummers Play, in local pubs (and a rather good Thai restaurant in Painswick - I was inspired to go back to eat a couple of weeks later). One evening I played Belzabob (black face, black tatters and to prove I was a 'dirty old man', a large purp...
