Duck is my favorite teddy bear. He is, by far, the best snuggler around. He is there for you if you need him and will tell you the truth even when you don't want to hear it. Some people hate him for that, But I admire him. He is strong even when it gets rough, and he will put the needs of others before the wants of his own. Even when those others can't see it.
Ducky's #1! Ducky for world ruler!!! ok maybe not, but I still lurve him.

Dave got to experience what it might be like to lug around his child when Zoe adopted him "uncle ducky" and decided he was the next best thing next to mashed potatoes! She decided to fall asleep in his arms after chattering away with him (1999 at Nut Tree).
He is a great dad, dealing with all that life throws at him with grace and patience, yeah, you go bro~!

Here's my favorite memory of Dave, and one of my favorite memories of all time:
I had just flown into Oakland Airport the day before, after spending almost a year in Tuscon, Arizona. No trees, no ocean, no humidity. That year was the worst year of my life, I was getting the shit kicked outta me by an evil bastard, no job, no money, no friends in Tuscon, no hope. I had only come back for 3 months to work RenFaire, then at Black Point (this was '97).

Dave picks me up on his motorcycle to give me a lift to the site, registration weekend. We were going up 80, on our way to Novato, the wind was in my hair, it was warm, the bay was on my left and the Berkeley hills (w/plenty of trees!) were on my right. I could smell the salty sea air, it wasn't 115 degrees, vibration between my legs, hot guy in front of me: man, I was in heaven! At that moment, on the freeway, I realized that I was lucky to be alive, I realized that I never wanted to go back to Tuscon, that NorCal was my home. And (although it took me a few more months to admit it to anyone, including myself), I realized that I would not survive if I went back. So, I didn't.

I was free. One of the greatest moments of my life. I can't think of a more loyal, loving and wonderful person to share in my great moment than Dave. Thanks honey, thanks for helping me live.

This is the man that allowed me to feel safe scening in public. He is the only DM I trust completely, no reserve. He is also the sexiest guy that wears a duck suit. Plus, his spoon is the biggest I have EVER seen. Hang out with this man, he is a lot of fun. Hugs to you darling, L.
