Thoughts in a Quiet Mind

After windstorm

   Tue, December 26, 2006 - 12:36 AM
Our weather in the Pacific Northwest has been quite untypical. We had a brush with snow, which lasted only three days. Recently, we had a wind storm that did damage to our forest trees/ & homes and had a mass power outage that took awhile to come back.

We went on a walk this weekend at the forest land next to our home. There were some rather large trees that were wind blown down. Since the trees were on college acreage, they were also cut down for safety reasons. We met a local hiker and she agreed with us that she hoped the trails and forest would get cleaned up by spring time since these trails are walked on year around.

I did not take any pictures of the downed trees, but it was still an experience to see how strong mother nature's force can be during the winter time.

Have a safe and nice winter season.

On and on.
Pearl well.

drizzly cool short winter days
You make me nostalgic for the NW. That has been happening a lot lately. It seems to be calling me, from a distance. The weather here has been strangely NW-like, gray and drizzly without really raining. Recently a friend shared a picture she called "Cathedral Forest", and that reminded me of my walk across La Push questing for my first dip in the Pacific Ocean: dingo.care2.com/pictures/c...3912809.jpg

Thanks for sharing!
