<div>QUATRE ARTIST COLLECIVE......

We will be having an art show in Greensboro NC at a new gallery opening up in April in downtown Greensboro to be called ARC. More information coming.... meanwhile James D Moore and I are renting a studio space at a new gallery space on Tate Street in Greensboro. It's become more known in the area now in connection with gatecityart.org .

I'm looking forward to spending more time on visual arts. The past 4 or 5 years mostly I've worked more on words and playing the guitar in less traditional ways and mastering this trash can lid &amp; soup pot I play after I switch off of my ashiko or bohran when bLIND iNFANCY plays. I'm a strange kid. </div>

I was born into your soul groove I was born into your mind freeing you from yourself I was born into the future I was born into the day when none of this matters I was born into total consciousness and awareness making love to Maya* until she climaxes into truth for us all to see the naked translucent beauty touch what you know touch what you see touch what you can.... be, what you can be.... what you are....

At CASTLE CARNEVALE 2006 I read this while a DJ spinned. I had been wanting to work with a DJ for years. When I was @ WQFS Greensboro I used to mix myself and read spoken word over it OR have a special guest to read, but I had not worked in a live setting w/a DJ before. It was a wonderful experience and I plan to do it again, even thinking fo adding a DJ for when bLIND iNFANCY performs as deathstar flux.

When I read live I changed a few lines to make them work better with the beat, I ended up reapeating the lines...

"I was born into the screamng, I was born into the dancing, I was born into the fire, I was born into the love of Maya"

juxaposed with... " I was born into the praying I was born into the water I was born into the wretched I was born into total awareness"

This is a poem from a series I have been working on. It is only the first draft, hopefully it will improve.

The first [box] went over well in SPOKEN WORD open mics when I was big nito that scene in NC. I was shocked so many people liked it, it's not as "typical" poetry as what most people usually like or can get into. It's more experimental and not easy to find "access" into.

Since then, last year... which would be 2 years or so after writing the first [box] (still very unaware I would ever write another other [box]es) I composed [box] "2" for the first LIFASAR! event Introvert Creative Group put on.

It was composed for what I would be doing within the event. As the event started coming together and I started gathering together the muscicians I would be working with bLIND iNFANCY was formed, and we "performed" [box] "1" and [box] "2" together as part fo what we called a Neo-American performance.

Shortly after the first LIFASAR! "1" last Spring I composed [box] "3" and "4" and realized they were to be a series to be called [boxes]. The plan is to continue experimenting with them and release them all together, part from my other poetry. I generally do not read them alone, I share them thru bLIND iNFANCY's performnces, although I did read them to a very diverse crowd last Summer, and once again found people from very different walks of life and from different age groups as well to appreciate them. As this has happened repeatedly I've begin to feel perhaps it is because the true themes underneath and the purpose for my writing them is universal.

Some of the other [boxes], but not all of them, can be found on-line at the following links...

[box] - coming
[box] "2" - coming
[box] "3" - coming

Thanks for reading my work.... I hope you could feel something from it...

Our part of the FRINGE festival will be sort of a sampler of what Introvert does in the LIFASAR! (Life As Art/ Life Bizarre) events we put on. Along with bLIND and Philosophical Ryan, Morgan, and others from Introvert will be performing. Al, and the rest of QUATRE will have some of their artwork there...

It should be a fun sampler of what we are about these days... although I don't know quite how we're gonna get bLIND's 45 minute set that is one long experimental improvasation into a few 10 minute slots rotating around with others, but I'm sure... as with our longer sets... whatever we do will be "interesting" if nothing else.....

HERE'S THE WHEN WHERE WHO...
(pay close attention...
both nights are not the same line-ups)

CREATIVE MOTORS ALIVE &amp; WARMING UP IN THE COLD WINTER'S WEATHER

<div>
CREATIVE MOTORS ALIVE &amp; WARMING UP IN THE COLD WINTER'S WEATHER

workin on an acoustic cover of "tainted love"

it sounds rather interesting. my voice is somewhere between warm hurt and adorable... mixed with somewhat of a tom waits leonard cohen johnny cash, ur... kurt cobain, eddie veddar feel.

starting to finally get the hang of singing while playing... I mean I've managed it on an electric guitar before playing melodic soundscapes with effects and looping space....... but not with acoustic guitar before.... not well at least, lol. although I did do a cover of "silent all these years" before on acoustic, and "patience" by G N R in high school. whenever I've played acoustic before it's always been me working with someone else and they sung, or simply me playing instrumentals I wrote.

although, often, many of the electric songs I wrote the music for on an acoustic originally... if they are songs with a more traditional structure, then I switch to electric when I've added the singing. everything from punk songs with ONE AWAY to the more melodic stuff that provides some of the structure with bLIND iNFANCY. some part of me always feels if it sounds completely like crap on an acoustic you're WAY too dependent on effects... of course bLIND iNFANCY is one of the most experimental bands I've put together and I feel our sound is based on experimental soundscapes thus far, so let me eat my own words!

-------------------------

along with the "tainted love" cover I also have two new acoustic songs, instrumentals so far, "Song for Jannah" and "An existentialist watching a game of Chess, heart bleeding"

I've tried writing lyrics for both. One version of the possible lyrics for "Song for Jannah" I love, but the guitar structure doesn't work well for it, the other song lyrics work well with the guitar chords and structure, but I don't like those lyrics, too cliche. I can't feel them and what good is a song if you can't feel it.

With "An existentialist watching...." the lyrics are more like spoken word poetry... somewhere between Nick Drake and Ani DiFranco in style.

                          WHAT ELSE IS NEW?

Well I'm overly-ambitious and always thinking of things, projects, what to do and every year I make a list.... and the list isn't a TO DO, but a more of WHAT ABOUT? and every year I am able to accomplish some of the goals (like last year... for example.... was the variety show event which bloom'd into LIFASAR! Life As Art/ Life Bizarre).

Well this year amongst the list of over 20 ideas is:

1- learn more about making my own instruments out of, well, whatever I please (went
to Home Depot the other day looking for new "instruments" :) I wanna add pick-
ups to some of the non-tradition percussion I already use with bLIND iNFANCY)

2 - get bLIND iNFANCY into the studio....

3 - film this year's LIFASAR!'s

4 - from the LIFASAR! recordings put a DVD together of bLIND
iNFANCY's performance so that when someone buys something we
have out they will get to see Joyce, because I consider her and her
movement, reaction to the music to be essential to what we are about.
She's not just an added bonus if you see us play live.

5 - put out a CD complilation of LIFASAR! acts........ maybe find an indy label brave
enough to support us on this?....... maybe have a DVD with it?

6 - thru/with Introvert, finally, put out another literary 'zine like we did a few years ago

7 - put out an old school LIVE cd of some of the phoenix movement's stuff

8 - a CD of new solo stuff of mine

OR,

9 - which would combine 7 &amp; 8 (as well as 23 &amp; 84) simply a CD of my past work....
this endeavor would include everything from one Away to bLINd iNFANCY,
solo work, spoken word stuff.... Stigmata Star Freak, etc etc.

meanwhile I'm finally supposed to finish my degrees this year (thank God), work FULL-TIME (one of the musts to be able many of the list above is to have money to do so), take the GRE, apply to grad school, write some new plays, decide if I still want to teach, plant my garden come Spring (hoo-ray!!!), organize the LIFASAR!s as well as any other events introvert takes on.... and as well as the list above and all the ideas I didn't even bother typing from my list because I feel the ones above are the major ones... the ones I will be concentrating on trying to make happen for certain.... plus we must not forget also to continue working more on liberating humanity, I'm still working on that apart from and through all of this.... with many of you, we can't forget that one........ not in a day and age like we live in.... it's been too neglected for far too long by far too many individuals, rulers, leaders, presidents, nations, cultures...

                                                                                  in one with love, Adrian
