Thanksgiving date change!
(blog entry)
I'm tired of having Thanksgiving the 4th Thursday in November. November is NOT a harvest month, especially in the Northeast. The real Thanksgiving would have been held in August or September.
Also, it is a real chore to make a huge feast in Novem...

Oh, and one more thing...I know we are inside a barn, but......
It is supposed to be OUTSIDE IN WINTER. Snow, cold, etc. I just wish the gel colors for the streets were blue (cool) instead of flame, bastard amber, and straw. Yes, London often suf...

I know I suffer from WHL, but my material is thin and it's so damn hot I just can't fathom wearing yet another layer. I'm using my fan constantly as it is. Maybe I should make a hoop with ruffles out of thicker fabric.

Christmas Carol movie review
(blog entry)
Just saw the movie tonight. I enjoyed it, EXCEPT for the DEMON HORSES chasing Scrooge through London, while he shrank to the size of a rat --WTF!?! Are they setting up a ride at Disneyland? I guess they just HAD to have a chase scene (sigh)

We went TorT ing with the Cuddys . Mike (the dad) had made a Ghostbuster costume complete with lights and sound! Cool! His kids were also in Ghostbuster costumes. Cute!

Also, it is a real chore to make a huge feast in November, then jump right into the Christmas holidays. Sometimes (like this year) there is less than 4 weeks between holidays. And if you're Jewish, it's worse. Hannakkah(sp?) is often early in December, and it's a bigger/longer celebration.
Thanksgivin...

On the other hand, I liked the fact that they put in a lot of details that are often left out--Bob Cratchit going down the slide, snuffing Past's light, Ignorance and Want under Present's robe, Scrooge falling into the grave, etc. If you've read the ...

If you are reading this, whether we do or don't speak often, please post a comment of the first memory you have of me and you that pops into your head. When you've finished, post this paragraph on your own status, you'll be surprised what people remember about you.

My neighbor lost his house to foreclosure. The bank is selling it for $449,000. That's less than half of what houses go for in this neighborhood. The lot is over 200 feet deep. It has 3 ponds (he was a mason), the house is very eclectic and he remodeled w/o permits, so parts need to be torn down, but still.....a great buy! And you'll be nearby for Bobtinis!

Sharon is, I think, the first faire person I ever really met -- at Heart of the Forest in Novato, in 2005. From the very start, she has been welcoming and generous and extremely friendly. Since then I've worked with her at Dickens, gone to a Bad Movie Night, and chatted with her at dances, and she continues to be simply wonderful. She's a beautiful person, inside and out -- no wonder Bob is crazy about her. I'm blessed even to know her, and blessed even more to be able to call her a friend.
Oh, and by the way -- I concur that she's a fantastic cook. Her salmon and potatoes equal excellent food, which is also equal to a happy Chloe.

Sharon is the most marvelous friend! In my book, a friend isn't just somebody who likes you, it's someone who'll go out of their way to look after you and take care of you. That's Sharon. She doesn't mind if I drop in unexpectedly, she'll be the first to volunteer to help me out with whatever crazy thing I need, she listens to me moan every now and then and offers a sympathetic ear when I need one.
In addition, she has a tremendous artistic gift, she throws a great party and she bakes outrageous cookies. What more could you ask?

Sharon is funny, energetic, generous, and very creative. She has helped me with everything from boys to bodices, and I can't thank her enough.

Where do I begin? I suppose at the beginning. Sharon and I met onstage and I was immediately taken with her because she was covered in paint, and she was pretty darn cute. One thing led to another and we've been together for about 26 years. She can bring tears to the audiences' eyes without saying a word, create another world for actors to play in, and bring spirited forth performances from actors like nobody else. She is a fabulous hostess, mother, companion, and wife. She is compassionate, giving, thoughtful, and sentimental. She loves to laugh, and sing, and dance. If you don't know her well, you should. She will enrich your life.
