I. FILM NARRATION:

Writing narration is a skill of a high order that combines an understanding of pacing, mood, and drama. Through the use of carefully chosen words and the concise use of language, the narration should bring a film to life and guide it to its final destination. A good narration should expand the images that we see on the screen and add an extra dimension to them. Having a powerful narrative is like taking a museum tour with a guide who does much more than describe the obvious. Documentary narration needs to connect to the film images, but it should also add rich layers of meaning that transcend the visual information, at a pace that is in sync with the rhythm of the editing. A documentary narration can be developed at various stages of post-production, from rough cut to final cut. Please contact me to discuss the needs of your particular project.

II. VISIONARY SCREENWRITING AND SCRIPT CONSULTATION:

I have worked in most genres of screenwriting and specialize in scripts that deal with themes of a mystical and metaphysical nature. My background in visionary fiction and in mythologies of all cultures will enrich and expand the storyline, and my knowledge of cultural archetypes will add new dimensions to the characters in the screenplay. This will help to raise the story to a level that will impact a wider group of people by tapping into concerns of the 'collective unconscious.’ I look forward to discussing the possibility of writing original screenplays or adaptations; and in working as a collaborator or consultant on your film project.

III. FILM RESEARCH:

Feature film research requires highly developed skills in acquiring information at lightening speed, whether it’s in the form of interviews with people who are difficult to locate, or in obtaining vital but obscure facts. It requires exceptional abilities in the library, photo archives and on the internet. I have all of these abilities and greatly enjoy the challenge of locating information that is necessary for all types of films; whether it is a period piece, science fiction, family drama, or a mystical film.

IV. BOOK CONSULTATION:

My confidential consultations on novels include five areas of discussion: o Characters: Comments that will help you create credible and well-developed characters o Dialogue: Aids to finding a consistent and recognizable voice for your characters o Setting: Comments that will help you develop mood, tone, and historical context for your story o Plot Structure and Development: Comments on tightness of plot and plot points o Message: Comments on the ultimate meaning of the story. As a staff writer on a number of different magazines, I have conducted interviews with more than 100 people on all kinds of subjects. I realize that so many people are creating extraordinary films and books, but are not getting the exposure they need for their efforts. The Conscious Film Festival runs from February 8 – 10, 2008, in the Bel Air Suite, to the right of the main entrance of the LAX Hilton. Twenty films have been selected for this festival. They are metaphysical, spiritual, and socially conscious. They offer a mystical appreciation for the universe, contemplate the latest themes in new science and physics, and communicate profound messages from indigenous peoples and visionary thinkers.

FILM PANEL: “THE FUTURE OF CONSCIOUS FILMMAKING”

Are we at the beginning of a new movement in filmmaking, or will this genre die out due to low-budget financing and limited popularity. Can “conscious films” – which explore human potential and the nature of reality, and which inspire people to create a better world – ever have the popularity of films geared towards pure entertainment? This panel will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this genre and will consider ways in which it can survive and continue to grow.

CELESTE ALLEGREA ADAMS: (Panel Moderator / Director of the Expo’s Conscious Film Festival), Screenwriter, Documentary Narration Writer, and Story Consultant. LEILA CONNERS PETERSEN is Director, Writer and Producer of “The 11th Hour,” the feature-length documentary with Leonardo DiCaprio and 54 leading thinkers and scientists about the state of the world and the state of the human condition. Leila is the president and co-founder of Tree Media Group, a production company with the goal of creating media to support and sustain civil society. She is in pre-production on her next feature-length documentary on solutions to heal the environmental crisis.

DREW HERIOT: Australian born Director, Drew Heriot, made his feature film debut with “The Secret” (2006), which became the highest selling DVD in the USA and pioneered a new trend in cinema. Heriot made a name for himself at a young age with his award-winning animated, and live-action shorts. In his early twenties, he directed commercials and prime-time shows for all of the major networks down under. His unique visions are the result of his passion for creating stories that take audiences on a journey to themselves.

PAMELA JAYE SMITH is a Writer, Speaker, Consultant, award-winning Producer-Director and Founder of Mythworks www.mythworks.net. Her book “The Power of the Dark Side” comes out May 08 www.mwp.com. DAVID WILCOX is the Executive Producer, Creative Director and Co-Writer of “Convergence: The Movie,” due out in late 2008. David is also the subject and co-author of the international bestseller, “The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?”, which explores the remarkable similarities between David Wilcox and Edgar Cayce. “Shamans of the Amazon,” Directed by Dean Jeffreys. 60 min. This film explores the world of ayahuasca, a plant-based hallucinogen. It includes protests to legalize ayahuasca in the Netherlands and footage of Terrence McKenna, recorded before his death. Beautiful visuals. (out of competition).
