about me
I'v been dancing for about 14 years now. But, only in goth clubs, along with every one else on the dance floor. I have a favorite spot on the corner o the dance floor, that has been "mine" for years. I even have a friend or two, that will tell someone to move, if they are in my spot on the floor, and I want to dance. So, as a dancer, at least in local clubs, I was known to be one of the better ones. It was fun, and I may have kept to that unchanging path. Then, something happened along the way. I saw another lovely/wonderful performance by Zingari East at a goth night in providence..and I (out of the blue) wanted to try it too! I had seen them many, many times, but never thought I could do it. I tried some moves at home, put on a long skirt, found a hip scarf, and started studying on line. Now, I know I can do it, and I plan to get lessons from them as soon as money allows. I think I can become very good at gothic belly dance. I'm a true old school dancer of goth, and now I'm adding belly dance to it, and it works. I get in as much gothic belly dance as I can, at the club now. I'v gotten many compliments already, and ALLOT of staring. As if they like to see me dance. Some of them seem to border on disapproval, but like it, despite themselves . My new arm and hip movements, seems to be changing the way some of the club dances. It's odd, who knows. I could cause a trend..lol. I get better at it all the time. I do wish to perform for real, someday. For me, it seems the perfict path to take. I LOVE the dance, and I'v gained flexability, strength, and stamina(in just a few months). I'v also lost about 15 pounds..with no dieting(yay)! I just eat less, take vitamins, and dance every day. I'm on my way, to becoming a strong beautiful dancer( I hope). Once I have a few real lessions under my belt, I will truly know what I'm doing. And who knows where I will go from there. I want to do vail work, play Zils, and do sword work. I'v got good balancing skills, so I think, I'll also end up doing well with that. I'm looking for friends in the dance from all over. I know I have things to learn from all of you. Also, there are few around me, to talk to about belly dancing. I'v become upsessed with it , and I love it (this is how I will be able to keep motivated for years to come) and that has confused some. And some, just couldnt care less. I think I need some new friends. If you'd like to know more my myspace is: www.myspace.com/crystabell , Thanks, for reading, and happy dancing, to all! Crystabell

I've only been belly dancing for a little over a year now(I've been doing the gothy dancing thing for about 15 in the clubs). I think , with a little more guidance(aka, practice, and classes)I'll be ready to perform. Sadly, I want to put all this on a fast track, because I feel like I'm running low on time. I'm 36, and just about to, start, to perform. I wonder sometimes, am I to old? Most people start out in there 20s at the latest. This age thing wont stop me or slow me down, and I d...

I still need a better job, with more hours. I need dance clothing badly. I can't do shows in what I own. Therefor my dancing has another hang up. I have vids, and I plan on going to class again this week. But again, I have nothing good enough for a show. A fringey tassle belt, a coin braw that fits me, a skirt that won't drift to the side when I shimmy. These are things I know are very, very far off. Maybe by summer I'll have ... read more

Last night battoo was retouched, or overhauled,if you will. Two and a half hours later, and Battoo looks like a little fox bat, flying in the in moon light. There may be a moon if it will fit later. Battoo has greens, and red, and purple in her now. It kinda hurt my newly thinner arms(all the colors). And the chill in the room gave me goosebumps. He had to turn up the heat. Again, I NEVER liked the cold, never will. But, it is worse now. I can stand moving around in the cold. But sitting or ...
