about me
Right now, I'm a student at Mizzou, about to graduate in May with a degree in history. My dream is to write history books and research to my heart's content about the people from the Middle Ages to the Early Modern period. Outside of that, I love to bellydance and hope to teach someday in my own home studio. In addition, I'm a self-professed anime geek. Give me a Sailor Moon episode and I'm good to go. I don't always know where my life is headed, just as long as it stays happy.

A new bellydance troupe is headed your way in Columbia, MO! Muses in Motion under the direction of MIriam will be making it's premiere at SoCo (128 E Nifong), August 7th for a gothic/industrial themed bellydance show. First set begins around 9:30pm. SoCo will also be featuring DJ's Sainte Mairet, Forensic, and Darkhorse.

I'm excited for Muses in Motion first show tonight. Also super nervous. Not sure how my cane dance will go. Have a few hours beforehand to practice. But so excited! Work needs to be over now. Can't concentrate on it. Blah.

I'm choreographing a new number with a cane for a show in two weeks. To find inspiration, I like to watch videos on youtube. If anyone has any favorite bellydance videos that involve canes in anyway, let me know! Haven't really worked with them much outside of a troupe choreography involving one, so any help is mucho appreciated.
Had a show today and it went well. Gotta love the little girls that come up for participation numbers. Hugs to them all!

I've had either a rehearsal, class, performance, or improvisation hour just about everyday for the past week or two. It's been crazy. I like it and it makes me look forward to doing it more later on. Need to work out what I want to do about the day job. Working at the library is fine for now. But I would like to transition to working at home or on my own eventually (not sure doing what) and dancing as well. Cannot stop listening to Caravan by Raquy and the Cavemen. Zafira had a wonderful choreography to that song. At work the other day, I had time left over and was working upstairs. Luckily it was after five so no one else was in the room, which meant that every once in awhile I could break out drumming on the desk as I listened to my itunes.
