Spent today doing my first intern hours in an Oakland Hospital. Interesting. Put in a lot of interesting places. Sleepy. Fire Department tomorrow. Yawn.

Been nice living on the water - however, there are also many issues involved in renting a boat in which the owner does not desire to fix problems in a timely manner and my hands being tied as the renter. I have decided I need a boat. In fact, 7 people on my dock told me that yesterday. I need my own boat. Something clean. Something fiberglass. Something with a working bilge. Something to crawl around in, become greasy in, go out on the water in and probably about 27 feet. I need my own boat.

My summer EMT course has been utterly disorganized. There is the lost midterm. The broken scantron machine. The teachers who never show up, or show up 45 minutes late. The fact we only had a course schedule 1/3 of the way through the course. Not knowing one day to the next what we were expected to do, because, really, no one, especially the teachers do not know. Went sailing around the bay and out the gate. Racing boats everywhere, avoided big things moving really really fast and even had emergency practice with a hat overboard rescue near Treasure Island. Too much fun

When your car keys, work keys and flash drive
End up in the sludge at the bottom of the bay
On a sunny weekend afternoon
It is time for the Rum
It is time for Big Magnets
It is time for bright orange 30 foot nets
And it is bloody well time for a good sense of humor
And, most importantly, it is time for Fishing!
