about me
I'm a happily married 37 year old mother of a five year old. I have a BFA in studio art from NAU. I've studied art over seas in both England and Ireland. I lived in Ireland for 5 years with my Irish husband and have only moved back to the states recently. My mother was a belly dancer and I have been dancing on and off since I was 16. I am very interested in getting started back into dancing and getting back into shape. I don't ever want to become a public figure in dance. I am primarily interested in it as a source of enjoyment and exercise.

Loving Sharon Kihara!

As far as costuming I've been wearing black and dark deep rich colors since I was 14 so I wouldn't be into a lot of pink or frilly stuff. And definitely no gold lame! (sorry mom) I'm not that young so I like to cover my tummy more now. I have a lot of old dancing jewelery I got at Unicef and Amnesty International and my mom gave me a lot of her old dancing ornaments, etc.

Re: just wanted to say that i dig this Witch swap tribe! (in ***Witch Swap***) Hi everyone! I've been so lazy and haven't gone through my stuff in a while. I am working on some watercolors with a witchy theme. If anyone has any ideas for paintings send them my way and I'll see what I can do. I've also been working on some Di... read more

Re: Favourite Libra movies, songs etc. (in Starwheel Sidereal Astrology) How about Suspect with Cher, Liam Neeson and Dennis Quaid. I think that the idea of justice, romance and suspense, all strong Libra traits, play an integral role in this movie. There is also a lot of mystery and stealth. I found it interesting how... read more

Re: Persimmon and Walnut Bread ~ Da-Lish! (in Kitchen Witchery*Hearth and Home) I just saw persimmons at the market the other day and was tempted to buy some, but had no idea what to do with them or how you eat them. This sounds great! I'll have to try them. -Freya

Re: It might've been cool if she wasn't so stiff (in Armoire Awards!!) Mostly I think she was rushing it. I do this all the time with my hands, I just pull them up and down too quickly. She just needs more confidence and I think she's doing fine for a beginner. -Freya

Re: thai robot dance gong wrong.... (in Armoire Awards!!) I think you got it! There was simple no personality showing. It's like a puppet dancing. Where is the spark, the vitality. -Freya

My Blog

It's not done yet, but I am so proud of myself. I haven't been able to finish a lot of stuff lately so when I get it done it feels great. I still have to add some tassels, but for the most part it's done and I am so excited. I really need to get some paintings done as well. I'm ready for my next project. Bring it on!

I saw Peter Murphy and the Mission Creeps last night at the Rialto and it was a bloody great show! It's hard to believe that after several decades the GOD that is Peter Murphy can still shine on stage like new. I saw him in Dublin a couple of years ago and was amazed at how different each show is and how each performance takes on a life of its own! I belly danced my ass off too!!! -Freya

THE DANCE by Freyamorganna

Veils flying circles round my head

Sweat dripping down my chin

I can do anything and yet nothing at all

Time doesn't exist in the dance

The world is just a blur

Movement is at it's core

Veils flying higher over head

I am feeling very accomplished after finally finishing a project. I took my mom to the store to pick out fabric and decorations and then went home and made a pattern. I was able to do this project in 2 days which is great for me. I added the decorations using a beautiful turquoise thread and I hope it can stand up to the wear and tear of dancing.

So I went to the gym last Thursday and I was feeling kind of funny. I told my trainer that I thought I was having allergies or asthma or something and she sent me home. I woke up the next morning in bits and made my mom take me to the hospital. After several hours of being poked and prodded they told me I had pneumonia! Frick'n pneumonia! How can you get pneumonia so fast and without warning? Crazy. I'm feeling much better, but I lost the better half of a week. -Freya
