Disappointing book club meeting

   Thu, January 11, 2007 - 5:14 PM
Today I, unknowingly, wasted an hour of my time attending, what turned out to be a very boring book club meeting. That's too bad because, among other reasons, the book under discussion was one of my favorites, Milan Kundera's "the Unbearable Lightness of Being". I couldn't imagine not having a lively discussion about this book, but apparently, it's possible.
On a more positive note, I've been feeling much happier than usual over the last few days and have accomplished a lot. Next week I'm set to start volunteering at the Kristin Brooks Hope Center (www.hopeline.com). I'm going to be working on a designing a chat-based website for people in crisis. Meanwhile, I still have an interview at CrisisLink to volunteer as a hotline counselor. I hope that these two commitments, along with my full-time job, will not leave me over-commited.
