about me
Hmm..about Me, well.. I love to read fantasy books, though sometimes I'll throw in a sci-fi or two, I consider myself to be very creative -I love to design fantasy costumes and play with makeup for a fantasy look, I also make masks which I'd love to one day sell at Renaissance Festivals -which I adore either working at or attending as a Patron. I listen to music, I prefer to listen to tapes and cd versus whatever comes on the radio. I like "Dead Can Dance", "Sarah McLauchlin", "Delerium", etc. I love to collect things like books, fantasy figurines, cool clothes. I used to write poetry when I was younger, still try it once in a while. I love to go to movies -especially opening night showings. I also consider myself to be rather open-minded and opinionated. I'm very interested in strong women of mythology and history, I guess I could be called a little bit of a feminist, maybe. I'm very interested in Witchcraft and so have been buying up every book I can on the subject and doing as much reading as I can. And no, I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for right now, just studying. I am drug free and only drink for social occassions. And I consider myself easy to get along with. I'm currently in a monogomous relationship of about seven years now and in a few years we plan to marry eachother and eventually have kids. I like to socialize and would love to meet more people. And if you'd like to learn more about me then you'll just have to strike up a conversation with me and get to know me better:)

Here is my newest mask, the Amethyst Fairy. She is completely hand-crafted from an air-dry clay and then painted over with acrylic paints and iridescent shimmer pigment powders. The wings are hand-made and hand-painted by myself. I've added silk blossoms and some peacock swords to the sides of the mask. The mask is secured to the face via a light purple velvet ribbon which is hand sewn to the inside of the mask.

Just finished my most recent mask, The Raven. Completely hand sculpted from an air-dry clay and hand painted in acrylics. I'm quite happy with it, though unfortunately it's proving quite the chore to photograph. In the photos, despite the lighting...which was in the shade, the mask keeps showing up as being very metallic when it's actually not.:( It's black with highlights of metallic pewter applied with a dry-brush technique and then I highlighted the feathers with little accents of iride...

We're still getting settled into our new apartment here in Mass. It's going to take a while as we need more furniture and more storage before we can shift stuff around enough. But we're getting there.

I've started baking more. Have made chocolate chip cookies from scratch, on my own, for the very first time and they came out pretty nicely. A little bit too big, but taste and texture was great:) Started working on my next mask the other night. It's going to be another bird mask, but t... read more
Well, it's been a little while since I've last posted. Dallas, Gizmo, and I made it safely to Ma. about one month ago now. Still settling into our new digs, lots of boxes everywhere and are still scrambling to get everything together that we need for our first place. Like a mop...and a couch would be nice!:D
