Rainy Weather
(blog entry)
Here in Wisconsin we have had a "stalled" weather front. Lots of rain. We needed the rain to replenish the earth. I am just not looking forward to the return of higher pollen counts.
Peace!
Life
(blog entry)
I am recently new to Tribe and am finding many cool connections. On top of wending my way through all of the cool Tribe stuff, I am enjoying being a first-time grandma.
If I were feeling better I would write more.
Until then - PEACE!
When I was young I thought summer would never get here. I enjoyed school and all that, but there was the magic of summer. I grew up in the country so there was the call of biking until late. Actually really late sometimes because even though it was the country we lived in a developed community (well it was developed by the government so take it for what you will) that had street lights. There was a pond that you could go fishing in or just sit by. One summer my brother and I thought we were really cool and biked to a "nearby" campground. Nearby ended up being more like somewhere between 3 and 5 miles away. Our mother was really cool and let us bike there, but showed up later in the car with the rest of the family. Never saying a word at how ballsy we were.
Then I had my own child. A beautiful, lively, talented girl. I looked forward to the summers when she was in the lower grades because she would look forward to me coming home from work to go adventuring. Then, as she got older, there was summer school. It was not mandatory summer school in the district we were in. They were life enriching classes such as American Sign Language, fishing, gymnastics, etc. I would look forward to coming home and hearing what she had learned that day (because these classes were ooooooh so much more fun than "regular" school.) Of course, the summer school classes did eventually become mandatory to make up for grades. Those were not fun classes anymore.
Then my daughter decided that it was time for her to move out. She did so with my blessings. I thought to myself, "Wow, summers to keep myself busy. Just what am I going to do with myself. I have the SCA and I own a really cool tent." Then I met my girlfriend. She is a really awesome person. She is currently going back to school for her masters. (I think that is the next step before becoming a "doctor" right?) Anyway. She is doing all of this school work (summer school too) while working a full time job in which her workload seemed to double overnight recently, with no real clear end for it. As it looks tonight, it might be mid-July before we can actually see each other in person again. The summer will be half over and more school to come. Which, really, is a good thing because she will be more than halfway through her progam to graduate. Which will be another thing to contemplate on another night.
So again I say: PBBBBBBBBTTTTTTTT!

Courtney told me that Aiden started looking around for the disembodied voice that was talking to her. He is such a smart boy for only being a month old! (NO I am not a proud grandma. Why do you ask *smiling*?)
