I'm an international bonne vivante currently serving time in Hell (aka, GDA Junior. All rights reseved.) as an English teacher. I'm an art teacher by training, but I have no idea what I actually want more than 8 months into the future....

I am SO over Mormon boys, and other thoughts this week (blog entry) I am SO over Mormon boys:
Well, a while back I finally sat down and talked to one of the guys from church, and ended up talking to him basically for the rest of the party we were at. We seemed to have a lot in common, and after I forwarded him s... read more

More coins! Work on my dress begins! (blog entry) I decided to write a blog about the coins I've received from other dancers to decorate the Assuit dress I'm decorating to perform a Saidi choreo this summer, but I haven't been fastidious about updating it here, so I'm going to have a lot to type ... read more

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. (blog entry) Spring is an amazing time in Korea. Seoul is abloom with cherry blossoms, the weather is a sweet kind of cool, the sun is shining - everything just feels happy and new.

Except my job. I managed to incur the wrath of my supervisor, Courtney (y... read more

Some f-ed up shiznit (blog entry) I don't really get into April Fool's Day. I like a good joke as well as the next person, but I don't really have the kind of creativity you need to pull off a great prank. Besides which, it seems kind of obvious, doing stuff on April Fool's Day,... read more

My Blog

I am SO over Mormon boys:
Well, a while back I finally sat down and talked to one of the guys from church, and ended up talking to him basically for the rest of the party we were at. We seemed to have a lot in common, and after I forwarded him some pictures a friend sent me we started emailing back and forth, and he asked me out. Well, due to his schedule and our separate locations (Incheon and Bundang are both more than an hour outside of Seoul), we didn't end up going out. I pursued it ... read more

I decided to write a blog about the coins I've received from other dancers to decorate the Assuit dress I'm decorating to perform a Saidi choreo this summer, but I haven't been fastidious about updating it here, so I'm going to have a lot to type in the 10 minutes I have before the ajjumma kicks me out of the school. Here they are (in as close to order of appearance as I can remember):
Sagira, in Melbourne, Australia
Azhaar, in Seoul, South Korea
Qamar, in Quebec, Canada

Spring is an amazing time in Korea. Seoul is abloom with cherry blossoms, the weather is a sweet kind of cool, the sun is shining - everything just feels happy and new.

Except my job. I managed to incur the wrath of my supervisor, Courtney (you may have read about her in my last blog), because I don't respect her, and apparently I let it show a little too much. So I got written up. I guess this is my fault - if you're going to disrespect someone, you can't give them anything to use aga... read more

I don't really get into April Fool's Day. I like a good joke as well as the next person, but I don't really have the kind of creativity you need to pull off a great prank. Besides which, it seems kind of obvious, doing stuff on April Fool's Day, anyway - you've gotta do it before anyone realizes what day it is. Usually.

However, there are definitely some times when I don't think these jokes are appropriate. Like right now. I work for a language school in South Korea, and in the last t... read more

So Friday I got the first coins for my dress, and so I thought I should start my official blog for it.

In case you haven't read one of my posts, I'm working on decorating the dress I'm going to wear to perform in Japan with my teacher when she's there teaching a workshop in July (she's gracious enough to let me tag along as her assistant). We're going to sew silver coins along the edges of our matching blue (hers) and red (mine) Assuit dresses.

Well, when I was at my first workshop two... read more
