about me
I'm 5'11, 185, with blue eyes, a shaved head, and an athletic body. A lot of people make a point of telling me I look younger than my age. Still, I've earned my share of wrinkles and laugh lines over the years, and I have a lot more battle scars than when I was younger. But I like to think I look good for any age.... And a pleasing number of others seem to think so, too!

I'm HIV+, intelligent, thoughtful, organized, fun, enthusiastic -- a writer, reader, learner & communicator. An all-around ADVENTURER, I enjoy exploring cities and the outdoors, inner life and the outer world. Working out is an essential part of my physical & mental health, along with yoga, biking, hiking, camping, and lots of relaxing.

For me, a low-key SPIRITUALITY is at the core of everything -- my relationships with myself, other people, the world around me, and the divine order. My path includes practicing yoga and learning from the ancient wisdom of Native Americans, Tao Te Ching, I Ching, Buddhism, Hinduism, and other traditions.

Basically, I'm a peace-loving United Nations kind of guy. I usually look for the beauty in everyone. MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR! As a result, I have a lot of loving relationships in my life and seem to have an easy time meeting and connecting with new guys. I'm most open to attractive fit men who can nurture deepening connection and intimacy over time.

I'm still integrating the Jungian realization that every person and every thing has both light and shadow. I have a million different interests and more options than I know what to make of -- it's all just part of my Gemini nature -- which can be at different times and from different perspectives both a blessing and a curse.

I've lived and traveled all around the US (including Boston, NYC, Seattle, San Diego, Santa Fe, Provincetown, etc.) After two decades of being an urban fag, I spent a couple years exploring country living in the mountains of middle Tennessee and northern New Mexico before moving to New Orleans in 2003 to work on my first novel. I definitely enjoyed the Big Easy's tropical climate, great food, live entertainment, and array of opportunities for socializing -- until Katrina put an end to that party! Since then, I spent a year settling back in to the awesome radical faerie community in the rolling mountains of middle Tennessee.

In May 2007, I bought my first house in Livingston Manor NY, where I'm looking forward to finishing my first novel -- after I finish renovating my house.....

In November 2005, I bought a 1983 Mercedes Benz 300GD -- a diesel 4x4 Gelaendewagen or G-Wagen, for those of you in the know. Very few have been imported into the U.S., and they are said to be some of the toughest 4x4's ever built. I've had it converted so it can run on Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO - see greasecar.com & deepfriedrides.com) as well as regular diesel and biodiesel. Right now it needs a lot of TLC, but I'm still making plenty of use of it both for road-trips and for off-roading. Openings for hot mechanics and passengers!

Some of my mottoes/touchstones:
Be prepared. Go to the edge. Don't stop there.
Let go of judgments and expectations, and be present to the reality. (Tao Te Ching)
Peace, healing, harmony, love, beauty, balance, and delight!
Embracing and balancing light and shadow.
For the highest good of all concerned.

Obviously, I'm an open book. But as honest as I am in this profile, if you think you know everything about me now, think again!
