Eclectic. Gothic. Bellydancer. Random. Playful.
I'm a recent transplant to Southern California and am having a great time in the best state of the US (and my opinion is informed, since I moved around a lot as a kid). Having studied bellydance DVDs for about a year in front of two mirrors, I was glad to finally have a school where I could take classes. I spend several nights a week at Black Sea Trading Company studying tribal with Dana, although I have also studied cabaret there. I have begun taking classes down in OC with Sashi, who I took a workshop from and just had to study with. I got started on the advice of a friend and danced on a very low-interest hobby level for a while. Until Collide, my favorite band of all time, suggested picking up the Gothic Bellydance DVD since Tempest had danced to one of their songs. I saw Ariellah and Tempest dance and was hooked to the darker side of tribal fusion. Now that I'm in actual classes, I'm dedicated to getting up to performance level and really exploring hte art form.

I was told the same thing about the wait list but they called me and offered a slot a couple weeks ago. So, there are cancellations and calls being made. It can't hurt to put in an app.
