My Blog

The wildeyed restless heats have passed
I've licked the honey from the edge of the razor blade
And seen God reflected up at me from the gutter
My body is the lens
through which I glimpse the spiritual...
The arrogance of the intellectual
Has been no match for the instinct of the animal.
I've never thought through my next heartbeat.
Yet some days the animal fails to carry me
And I lie curled up, locked in the dark closet
Of the flesh
Eyes closed
With the key gripped tightly in my ... read more

Alive with moonsparks
The inlet glitters
And the restless black water
Finds its way to the sea.
You and I sit

The friction of the tools
Igniting a spiritual heat at his core.
Each valued task
A glowing ember that fueled
The flames of his vitality.

Today, I am crafting words,
Joining ideas
Welding thoughts ... read more

So today it begins.

Yesterday, I started reading William Carlos William's autobiography. If you're not familiar with him, he worked as a doctor in Paterson... read more

It's kind of a sad day when the solar system loses a planet, doncha think?

"Leading astronomers declared Thursday that Pluto is no longer a planet under historic new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight.

After a tumultuous week of clashing over the essence of the cosmos, the International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930. The new definition of what is — and isn't — a planet fills a centuries... read more
