More News at Eleven... (blog entry) Or whenever I actually wake up tomorrow/today lol. Interfuse pictures, cleverly borrowed from Captain, My Captain and my Yarnwife Anne, are up on my MySpace and on my Flickr account.

13 Hours To Lift Off (blog entry) This is my second all night stint so far this week. Somehow I think it won't be the last....but it's the last that will happen in Ohio! Tonight we leave for Interfuse and my first "real" burn. I'm so excited I can barely sit still. (Although I sus... read more

Burner Gear, Mary Poppins Style (blog entry) This is the bag I found at Goodwill. I am pretty much in love with it, I think. Three people complimented me on it before I'd even made it out of teh store. It has that perfect vintage smell to it - not funky or icky, but like the inside of a hous... read more

The Love to Serve Unselfishly (blog entry) Downtown is eerily quiet today, flooded with firefighters from all over. Two firefighters died in a burning house in Colerain Township last Friday, and the services are being held at the church on the opposite corner from my building downtown. All... read more

Beam Me Up, Melons! (blog entry) My hoop has been my daily companion these last few weeks. It's where I go no matter what I'm feeling. I've laughed in my hoop and cried in it as well. It has been an aid in meditation and a way to work off my extra energy when I'm too fidgety to d... read more

I'm trying to put together an Interfuse update, which will probably take the form of a list of random thoughts and experiences, as trying to synthesize the entire weekend into something coherent is just...wrong, and kind of hard... read more

I'm so excited I can barely sit still. (Although I suspect part of that is the caffeine and ephedrine talking...)

Any last minute advice for a Gypsy Girl about to burst her burn cherry?

This is the bag I found at Goodwill. I am pretty much in love with it, I think. Three people complimented me on it before I'd even made it out of teh store. It has that perfect vintage smell to it - not funky or icky, but like the inside of a house full of knick knacks with history and ferns that hang from the ceiling and are lit up by dusty sunbeams. That is what this bag makes me think of.

I also picked up a sleeping bag, a headlamp, a camp chair, a pack of 3 LED mini-lanterns, 2 skirts,... read more

Downtown is eerily quiet today, flooded with firefighters from all over. Two firefighters died in a burning house in Colerain Township last Friday, and the services are being held at the church on the opposite corner from my building downtown. All the streets are blocked off. I can't remember the last time I saw so many people in uniform. There are firetrucks here from places I've never even heard of.

My grandfather was the Fire Chief in Fremont, OH. My father is a volunteer firefighter fo... read more

My hoop has been my daily companion these last few weeks. It's where I go no matter what I'm feeling. I've laughed in my hoop and cried in it as well. It has been an aid in meditation and a way to work off my extra energy when I'm too fidgety to do anything.

At first I was hooping downstairs in our living room, where there is a mirror on the door of the wardrobe and lots of natural light and space. Then my roomie put the dance pole back up. Yes, that's right; we have a portable, stationary... read more
