about me
I'm a very useful person. Before all else I'm very personable, I like to talk, laugh, and related to individuals. I'm also skilled and experienced at leading and directing a group of people, children and adults alike, through classes, projects, exercises, lectures, workshops, etc. Otherwise I have great attention to detail and manage my time well. I know Word and Excel, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and apt to learn new programs quickly.
I can also build, like with hammers drills and saws, I can sew, cook, bartend, paint, draw, dance, act, choreograph, rap, navigate, and more. I'm mechanically inclined, good at math, an excellent writer, can work independently or in a groups. Most importantantly I'm willing to learn anything, and I take direction very well. Doing things, creating, and accomplishing tasks are all very satisfying to my work ethic and ambition to succeed. I had already been taking ballet, and jazz for years before I took on a dance major at UW-Milwaukee and became affluent in Modern dance. I spent one of my college years in Brisbane, Australia, that's where I picked up my first fire staff, which launched the current Fire Performance career. I haven't done much formal eduction outside of High School and University. Life however is an ongoing learning experience. The best lessons are through travel, the hardest lessons come out of love, and love lost. Hmm. Travel has sometimes been my solution to lost love, but my best travel has resulted from "why not?" My first experience abroad was to France with a high school trip. I was Sixteen. The new texture of landscape blew my mind, Wisconsin to Florida road trips are a shallow platform for the variety of terrain the earth offers. I hated my home stay. I got lost alone in Paris. Je me perdu. Graduated from High School, went on student exchange to Istanbul Turkey, what a trip! A year in the city that served as the gateway between Europe and Asia. Tea, silver, touring on busses, boats, cars and trains, drama, love, dancing, drunken nights eight days a week, street kids, high society, ruins, food, drama, and love, always love. Yes I speak Turkish, not like I use to, but I speak it, yani, Turkce biliyorum lan. Ultimately what I took away was a deep appreciation of that there is no one way to do anything, there's no absolute need for conformity in the world, and in fact there is wisdom in experiencing variety. Experiences with the Australian exchanges in Turkey brought me down under. Australia is where I found the light. Australia is where I broke free from classical technique and found out that dance happens when you let go and listen to... or stop listening to that thing, your shell, your front, your concerns. I burned the Wisconsin box, full of childhood anxieties and tensions from social rejections, I did what I wanted, the adult began to emerge, the child maintained, and I found light, it tore from my chest and became one with the sun, and fear began to subside. Burningman off planet experiences, and nation wide road trips followed. An adult in the world producing her own shows, developing her own dance programs, teaching, talking, networking, and feeding the creative fires in Milwaukee I found myself suffocating. There was a boyfriend, there are parents and siblings, there were financial difficulties, then the boyfriend went away, and the programs and teaching turned into drama. Enter California, I will never go back to the midwest, and I've shed and burned chapters. So from high school, to Turkey, University, Australia, young adulthood, to California, people love to ask me questions about my life. The dance, the fire, the travel, the stories, the strangeness. Now I teach kids, teens and adults, Musical Theatre, Ballet, Modern dance. I am a fire performer, I still travel, I am learning new skills for performance and for business. There are boys who come and go and come and go, there are mainstay friends in everyplace. I live in Oakland, I still love and spill light. I look to the future. The mission, and most of us have one, is to give back and assist the worldly life without exhausting myself. For all of our ages of stone and steel the tool of our age is money, and I don't care if you love it for its bounty or hate it for the greed it grows, money is the greatest tool of our age. I will make my way in this world, in this dimension, in this time, diverting money into projects, programs and development programs that support sustainability. Otherwise, I'm funny, with a dry sense of humor, creative with my thinking and artistry, accepting of the black and white, a party girl, a hot girl, both a social butterfly and a loner. OCD organized, LD with the phonological, cancer/gemini/leo, boy crazy, memory a little hazy, hyper ambitious, not lazy. So there's a little about me.

KT is magical. I wanna keep her around just so her magic will splash over onto me sometimes. Some people are just destined to have amazing lives and some people reach out and grab the magic for themselves.. I think KT does both. PANTS OFF, SISTAH!

So it came to me last week in a flash, inspiration realization station. I want to be a philanthropist. I feel drained and exhausted just thinking about growing my own business that will influence to world in the way I'd like to see it change. So I decided instead that I'll just "throw" money at organizations whose missions for change match mine.
