Getting back into the swing of things...

<div>Yay me! I practiced today!

Black V and Blue Caravan danced at this X-mas thing at a mall today. And when I got home from our performance this afternoon I was still totally in the mood to DANCE. I was SUPPOSED to start a choreography, but that didn't happen. But I did do about 40 minutes of drilling, 25 of random improv (loving the new Britney Spears CD...bow chicka wow wow...), ran all of our BV numbers (except the one we're learning...oops, totally forgot about it!), and did about 40 minutes of yoga(ish) stretching (20 minutes before and 20 after).

It turns out I totally had forgotten Proper Silence (our very first BV number). I blanked out in about 3 places. I don't want to talk about it. And when "People Like Frank" (one of our MUCH more recent dances) started I just stood there thinking: "this song sounds so familiar...I wonder if I used to know a routine to it..." (I blame that on general fatigue...you know, like when it's 3 in the morning and you can't figure out how to spell the word "axe"? "Is it 'acks'? 'Aks'? Why don't any of these look right?").

Goals for future practices are to keep my shoulders down and my neck long, so that I don't have 2 chins and no neck while I'm dancing (sooooooo unattractive...).

I got a full body massage from my new friend Zoe last weekend and she's awesome!! I felt fantastic afterwards and she used this great something something oil, so my skin was all smooth....mmmmmmm....

One of my cats (Toby, orange tabby) escaped from my parents house where we were visiting. It happened on the day before Thanksgiving. Since he's a completely cowardly indoor-only cat I totally freaked out. During Thanksgiving all I could think was "Today I'm thankful that I haven't found my cat run over in the street...yet..." It's hard to enjoy a yummy sweet potato when one is waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Anyway, we recovered him. Many thanks to my younger brother, Peter, who coaxed him into the house at 1:30 in the morning. When I finally got him back I was so happy that I shook him until his stripes rattled. Dumb cat.</div>

<div>Today is an extremely good day; I have no where to be and nothing to get done. I'm feeling very....calm... Worked on some sewing and washed some dishes. I had some pineapple with cottage cheese and then spent three mellow minutes admiring how pretty the empty yellow bowl looked as the light from the open window hit it. Nice weather today...</div>
