Good luck and congrats on this journey!
My favorite vegetarian recipe sites are vegsource.com and 101cookbooks.com. I also can't recommend highly enough "Super Natural Cooking" by Heidi Swanson, who writes the 101cookbooks blog. She seriously rocks, and her cookbook is focused on integrating whole, natural foods into your diet (as opposed to being focused on removing meat). Let me know if you need any restaurant recommendations around Houston. It is indeed possible to be a vegetarian in Texas! :) |

CONGRATULATIONS!
That's fabulous news! I'm so happy for you, Michelle! I know it's not a huge change since you've been cutting back for so long, but it's a commitment you can feel really good about ~ good for the critters, good for your body, good for your soul ;~)
Here's a site w/ lots of good info & they offer a free starters' guide: www.veganoutreach.org/starterpack/ Did I mention it's FREE? Next time you're in Houston, you simply must treat yourself to a trip to the Hobbit Cafe on Richmond near Kirby. YUMMMM!!! And put some pressure on the Subway in Huntsville to get the veggie patty ~ surely I'm not the only one who's been bugging them to put that option on the menu for years. But since you actually live there, maybe your request will carry more weight. Thanks again, BTW, for telling me about Chili's black bean burger. I ate there on my way home after our shenanigans w/ GMG ;~) |
