about me
I am a professional belly dancer in the northeastern Ohio area. I dance mostly in the American cabaret style, although I appreciate all styles and especially love Egyptian cabaret. My biggest influences in dance are Sohair Zaki, Aziza, Amar Gamal and Amani of Lebanon. I also love Ansuya, but I can't dance like that, even though I've tried. I can't seem to get out of the cabaret dance frame. Anyway, I am booked every weekend for Club Roma at the Mercury Lounge on West 6th, Kan Zaman and Leylenas. I also do many Arabic events, although I must say that lately, Americans are hiring more professional belly dancers- yay! Aside from being a wife and mommy, raqs sharqi is my life and I love and respect the art form deeply. I'm on a personal mission to prove to northeastern Ohio that belly dance is family friendly form of entertainment and a valid art form.
