I am one who gets accused of being too honest. I rarely feel a need to be fake. The few who I call friend have been around for years or they are individuals who are also true to themselves and those who surround themselves with others who are straight up. I tend to gravitate towards the eccentric and multi cultural mostly because I have to explain myself much less to those individuals, there for the conversations are not filled with me trying to say why I am the way I am. I do not mind saying why I am who I am initially but it gets old after the first few conversations. I do not fall into many folks mold of what they think I should be and they expect me to explain right after first meeting. To me I am a lot less complicated then many people would like to think I am and it is obvious fairly quickly after meeting me.

I love to make art it is in my flesh and soul to make art. Film is my favorite media photography my second favorite. Since age 3 I have worked with watercolor, pencil, pen, acrylic, wood, fabric, yarn for crochet, clay, wood and glass. When I was 10 my Grandma Joyce(moms mom) who lived in New York gave me a Kodak Disc for Christmas I have worked with Silver Gelatin every since. My interest in working with Motion Pictures snook up on me later in life after I did Theatre and Dance for years I started Stage Managing Directing and then I was a Interpretive Dance Choreographer. Moving behind the scene on stage, being critical about many films I watched and my Mom taking me to freaky Art Films all contributed to me finding my true love and ultimate medium. FILM.

My Mom(Ummi) is why I am how I am. She is a writer and fabric artist who has spent her years involved in Activism and Cultural Work in the community. I have spent much of my time growing up traveling with her to various communities in the South East and sitting in meetings with Organizers. I spent many years at Highlander Research and Education Center as a child and young adult meeting folks from all over the world who work to better the world. Long meetings and workshops that wore me out, but the people I met made it well worth it. Google Highlander if you have not heard of it not enough space here to explain it.

I currently work as a freelancer and I am chipping away at my personal film projects. My freelance work includes all things media from Designing Business Cards and Album Covers to Wardrobe and Camera Assistant for Commercial shoots. I am a good editor also. Post Production is where I shine most but I will do it all if needed.

I founded a media arts group called Sweet Southern Pixels we are a group of 9 woman media artist who produce film showings and art happenings featuring our work as well as other artist. We are in the business of bringing media art to the community with a bang.
