Started dancing ballet at age 4 after watching my older sister in the class (which she then quit!). Moved from Ohio to NYC at 16 to finish high school and study with Melissa Hayden. At 20 decided I would NEVER fit in with the multitudes, and would never be good enough to be a soloist, so I quit, moved to NY's east village, died my hair multitudes of colors, and started a band! Toured with retro-honky tonk act Last Roundup, then formed my own band. Music and budding family moved me to Austin, TX where I continued to play music until child #2 was born. By then I was sewing vintage style embellished clothes for the band, and was contracted to sew the shirts for Tom Wopat and the guys in the B'way production Annie Get Your Gun. Music stopped, clothing began. Have been making high end embellished custom clothing since (www.libertywesterns.com). Emboidery all done on an antique cornely chain stitch machine. . .it's pretty insane. Have since moved into modern dance, jazz, salsa, now bellydance. . .and am gathering goodies for my first two belts, one oriental, one tribal. . .
