Analytic philosophy vs. Continental philosophy

Anyone want to take a stab at this? The merits and defects of both, if any. The methodological differences, style, etc. In other words, what are some good meta-philosophical criteria that would adjudicate what is the superior approach to philosophical questions?

I know that since this is the AP tribe, there will be a heavy bias toward AP, but try to be impartial.
