Re: Scorpio movies, books etc. (in Rising Scorpio) I had to look him up as I have never heard of the author. Certainly seems like someone full of Scorpio intensity. I noticed he has Saturn in Scorpio in the 3rd house which does seem very appropriate for an author with such serious and powerful the... read more

Re: What Rising Sign do YOU find the most attractive? (in Astrology) Laux,

As a fellow Cancer I have to agree. Nothing turns me off like superficial "prettiness," it has to go much deeper than that. It's always conversation that first lights the spark, and the ability to connect with someone on a mental and emot... read more

Scorpio movies, books etc. (in Rising Scorpio) What movies, books, songs etc really remind you guys of Scorpio themes? How deeply do they resonate with you personally?

Re: Cancerian scorpies (in Astrology) Yeah, I've always had nightmares about getting run over as I crawl across a street with a bunch of friends. Gotta try it sometime all the same!

Re: Favourite Libra movies, songs etc. (in Starwheel Sidereal Astrology) Great choice Freya, I'd totally forgotten about that one. As the Cardinal air sign (direct, but changeable mental energy) Sid. Libra is very much concerned with mystery and suspense, as well as looking past initial appearances. Actually the themes... read more

My Blog

Feeling overwhelmed by details lately? Does your head feel buried in a grainy mass of specifics, making it herd to comprehend the bigger picture?

This Thursday saw Saturn begin its 2-3 year transit of the sign the celestial Virgin. The planetary Grim reaper, bringer of delays and tests was accompanied a day later by a New Moon in Virgo, kickstarting Saturn's 2-3 year transit of Sidereal Virgo. Traditionally the sign of focus on health and service, of concentrating on microscopic details an... read more

The sun was beginning to descend into a low band of cloud as we pulled into the park's western entrance. I had a car full of girls all dressed up and ready for a night of exotic dancing and pounding rhythms. My wife strained to look for her friend by the cancer memorial inside the entrance, where she had arranged to meet her.
"Do you think that's her?"
"It's hard to see behind the yellow girder. Let's just pull into the parking lot and we can take a look then."
A giraffe peeped its head ... read more

I really don't belong here.

It's almost 100 degrees farenheit, near zero humidity, and I'm pushing a throbbing Toro through about an acre of overgrown lawn. As an ecologically minded person (I like to think), this kind of scenario drives me crazy. Here I am in an 'oasis' in the middle of a desert, mowing through an artificially induced wilderness of various grasses and weeds. Don't get me wrong, this work has its merits, and I am well protected from the sun in a wide brimmed hat and a ligh... read more

The day we had long been waiting for started out pretty much like any other. At 6am I awoke wondering if I had missed the alarm, but an aching bladder put paid to any thought of a weekend lie in. After a bit of pseudo-yoga stretching and kitchen chair push-ups I heard my wife's phone alarm go off, wondering what she had to get up for on this Saturday morning. When I came in to check on her a disapproving glance sent me hurrying to wake the sleeping Kindergartner in the other room. Half an hou... read more
