Now, I'm from Mass, and I can understand and even appreciate a little aggressive driving. The roads here are so terrible and confusing, they are partially to blame for our state's horrible reputation. But just yesterday I experienced something that shocked me- not just as a driver but as a human. The complete disregard for human tragedy and sheer vain stupidity exhibited by my compatriots was revolting and astonishing. Where do these people come from? My lettuces have sprouted. The tomatoes are on their heels, and the first sunflowers are shaking off their seed-shell carapaces as they arch toward the window. I anticipate the peppers, squash, pumpkins, cucumber, and thyme. Of time I have ample, or so it seems. My unrestrained excitement at the sight of new growth in the garden trays is perhaps a sign of this, or maybe of my growing contentedness and wonder of the world.
