If you like film noir, check out "Where the Truth Lies." It's the best acting I've ever seen from Kevin Bacon. Director Atom Egoyan is great as always. Also recommended from him is "Exotica." The critics didn't like the film all that much, but it kept my attention.

The Watts Towers in Los Angeles is an interesting story. An Italian immigrant, Simon Rodia, spent 33 years building them. He was a laborer, worked in rock quaries. He used items that he found locally like bottles. After he completed his project, he left and moved to Northern California (Martinez) and sold the property to a friend. I just watched "Carnal Knowledge" with Jack Nicholson, Art Garfunkle, Ann Margaret, Candice Bergan, and Rita Moreno. They don't make movies like that anymore in Hollywood. It's seems that they keep remaking movies or base them on comic books or TV shows. The acting was superb as well as the directing.
