Feelin the love!

May 30, 2010
Las palabras no bastan para decir todo lo que siento para este amiguisimo Ron, que siento en el alma y en las entrañas, muy mía, muy mía. Através del océano, desde las profundidades del mar me llega su canto.
May 1, 2010
Ron reminded me that if I want something
I have to make the effort.
Thank You Ron.
January 7, 2010
Ron is a MAN of his words,,

He stands by them with a fierce force, determination , devotion and drive.

Ron Rocks !!!
February 28, 2009
Ron is a man of sweet hunger and I find that absolutely enticing!
November 21, 2007
Ron is Total Godhead.

He's cool.
He's silly.
He's smart.
He's musical. He likes games and anime.
Did I say he was funny?

Ron's my kind of geek.
He's one of my favorite people to play phone tag with.

AND I trust him near my computer.
April 20, 2007
Rock-and-Roll is the Bomb. Ron is the Detonator.

In the time i've known him i've had three mild strokes and one bruised knee as the result of his perpetual insistence on creating insanely ridiculous noise and/or humorous faces, causing great disruptive bouts of gut-achingly gregarious guffaws and brays, challenged only by the greatest of Gold Country Miners' Pack Mules.

plus, he gets my jokes... and that's sayin sumthin...

he ranks highly among the top ten most-brilliant people i know, not distinguishing between those with patents and those without.

he has a vast collection of black tshirts.

just don't ask him to pick a tie for you.

25 Words That Simply Don’t Exist In English

Approximately 375 million people speak English as their first language, in fact it’s the 3rd most commonly spoken language in the world (after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish). Interestingly enough it’s the number 1 second language used worldwide – which is why the total number of people who speak English, outnumber those of any other.

But whilst it’s the most widely spoken language, there’s still a few areas it falls down on (strange and bizarre punctuation rules aside). We look at 25 words that simply don’t exist in the English langauge (and yet after reading this list, you’ll wish they did!)

1 Age-otori (Japanese): To look worse after a haircut

2 Arigata-meiwaku (Japanese): An act someone does for you that you didn’t want to have them do and tried to avoid having them do, but they went ahead anyway, determined to do you a favor, and then things went wrong and caused you a lot of trouble, yet in the end social conventions required you to express gratitude

3 Backpfeifengesicht (German): A face badly in need of a fist

4 Bakku-shan (Japanese): A beautiful girl… as long as she’s being viewed from behind

5 Desenrascanço (Portuguese): “to disentangle” yourself out of a bad situation (To MacGyver it)

6 Duende (Spanish): a climactic show of spirit in a performance or work of art, which might be fulfilled in flamenco dancing, or bull-fighting, etc.

7 Forelsket (Norwegian): The euphoria you experience when you are first falling in love

8 Gigil (pronounced Gheegle; Filipino): The urge to pinch or squeeze something that is unbearably cute

9 Guanxi (Mandarin): in traditional Chinese society, you would build up good guanxi by giving gifts to people, taking them to dinner, or doing them a favor, but you can also use up your gianxi by asking for a favor to be repaid

10 Ilunga (Tshiluba, Congo): A person who is ready to forgive any abuse for the first time, to tolerate it a second time, but never a third time

11 L’esprit de l’escalier (French): usually translated as “staircase wit,” is the act of thinking of a clever comeback when it is too late to deliver it

12 Litost (Czech): a state of torment created by the sudden sight of one’s own misery

13 Mamihlapinatapai (Yaghan): A look between two people that suggests an unspoken, shared desire

14 Manja (Malay): “to pamper”, it describes gooey, childlike and coquettish behavior by women designed to elicit sympathy or pampering by men. “His girlfriend is a damn manja. Hearing her speak can cause diabetes.”

15 Meraki (pronounced may-rah-kee; Greek): Doing something with soul, creativity, or love. It’s when you put something of yourself into what you’re doing

16 Nunchi (Korean): the subtle art of listening and gauging another’s mood. In Western culture, nunchi could be described as the concept of emotional intelligence. Knowing what to say or do, or what not to say or do, in a given situation. A socially clumsy person can be described as ‘nunchi eoptta’, meaning “absent of nunchi”

17 Pena ajena (Mexican Spanish): The embarrassment you feel watching someone else’s humiliation

18 Pochemuchka (Russian): a person who asks a lot of questions

19 Schadenfreude (German): the pleasure derived from someone else’s pain

20 Sgriob (Gaelic): The itchiness that overcomes the upper lip just before taking a sip of whisky

21 Taarradhin (Arabic): implies a happy solution for everyone, or “I win. You win.” It’s a way of reconciling without anyone losing face. Arabic has no word for “compromise,” in the sense of reaching an arrangement via struggle and disagreement

22 Tatemae and Honne (Japanese): What you pretend to believe and what you actually believe, respectively

23 Tingo (Pascuense language of Easter Island): to borrow objects one by one from a neighbor’s house until there is nothing left

24 Waldeinsamkeit (German): The feeling of being alone in the woods

25 Yoko meshi (Japanese): literally ‘a meal eaten sideways,’ referring to the peculiar stress induced by speaking a foreign language

Sand castle artist Calvin Seibert manages to construct nearly impossible shapes from one of the world’s most delicate mediums. While Colossal has seen its fair share of art made with sand I’ve never seen anything so perfectly angular and geometric. See much more of his work over on Flickr. (via fasels suppe)

Cthulhu Mythos is creepy and thus perfect for Halloween. A word of caution though, unless you’re reading Hello Cthulhu comics or playing a game of Munchkin Cthulhu, it’s not cute-scary. It’s intended to be a horrific mind bending scary. Grab one of Lovecraft’s books or any other book from the shared fictional universe, sit down, read it and then be prepared to not want to sleep that night.

In response to various requests for a HQ Audio version of Whale Song, I've recorded this new take + video.

An ode to my own watery Piscean nature, and dedicated to the Pisces Tribe on

The piece consists of a few different motifs about the whale, the song starts out with lonely whale calls from the depths echoing out into infinity, then changes to a floaty whale ballet theme section.  The first guitar solo floats gently along the ocean tides.  The second solo represents the rushing water as the whale dives deep into the depths.

Depending on who is asking...

about me
Pisces Sun, Sag Moon, Cancer Rising, Venus in Aries, Mars in Scorpio.

I'm a geek, and I can prove it. Been working very hard on my music demo, and I'm interested in meeting other musicians (specially singers) to collaborate with. I have an obession with Anime, and am a self taught 3D animator. If you like the arty type, I'm your man. Love to cook, make a killer expresso, latte, capucchino. I appreciate intelligent people, have a natural aversion to stupid people.

Have been doing cross-platform computer consulting since 1997. My company is well established here in the Bay Area, and I'm trying to grow it again. Tried to grow during the end of the "dot bomb" era, with tragic results. This time I'm taking the growth process very slowly and making sure that I have the incoming business to support growing. We provide end to end outsource IT services to businesses all over Northern California.

Have a few pet film projects I've been working on for many years now, including a powerful and controversial documentary I'm in the process of finding funding to do.

I am a 420 MMJ activist type so if you are offended by that, we shouldn't even bother.

Divorced, with a daughter that lives with mom in Folsom, CA. I'm 6'0" in decent shape for my age, strong of back, and not afraid to do heavy work. I have a fetish for clean laundry. Oh, and a few other fetishes as well hehe...

The knife cuts
The thorns protect
A gentle flower
With it's sweet perfume

Scars make stronger tissue
Wounds teach us to respect the blades
Yet we open our hearts
Again and again

Without fear or remorse
Without shame or indignity
We give ourselves to love
And endure it's sharp edges

Perhaps one day
The swordsman will put down the blade
Perhaps one day
The cuts and wounds will heal

I lay my sword at your feet
And suffer my wounds
In the light of your sweet smile
I wil... read more

There is madness in infinity
There is a universe in a single drop of rain
There is a pattern if you watch the dancing flame

Shining down on you like sunshine

Seconds flow into minutes
Minutes flow into hours
Seas flow over the sea floor
Earth moves over its core

Winter flows into Spring
Years flow into Decades
Time flows into Eternity
It's just a blink in the eye of a tree

Thoughts flow into actions
Words flow into songs
Wind flows across a desert
Stop and watch our footprints dissolve

Children flow into parenthood
Tides flow into the shores
Moonlight flows into my heart
I watch and wait for my love to return

The din of drums

Flames leap out
From the depths of my soul

Colors dance
The crowd roars
Inspiration flashes
Music soars

She wakes me gently with a warm kiss
She fills my eyes with her presence
Winter's fury can do nothing to stop her
She only needs a moment
To spread her love over
Every leaf and blade of grass

Her smile is blinding
Her heat indominable
She fills me up with light and hope
Her energy sustains me
Her power sustains us all
As she rests, so do we
