HOW TO GET THE BEST FROM YOUR COSMETICS

How to get the best from your cosmetics.

Using your cosmetics sensibly and with reasonable regularity, most of your cosmetics and beauty products will last as long as you want them to.

Keep cosmetics and beauty products in a cool dark place, and try to make sure that all containers are air and water tight. Heat, light, and moisture will always have a damaging effect on your cosmetics.

Air damages your cosmetics by contamination. Cosmetics in open containers are more likely to be contaminated than those cosmetics in a tube. Always make sure that stoppers and caps are completely sealed to container. By doing this safe measure it will ensure that no bacteria can circulate due to air flow into the cosmetic.

Mascara keep it to yourself. Always be selfish with your cosmetics. What I mean is do not share them even with your best friend. Bacteria is transmitted this way and to avoid infecting one another tell her or him where you bought it and that you only care about them. Bacteria and viruses are not smart enough to pick and choose who they want to invade. I have learned this lesson the hard way. I contracted conjunctivitis(Pink Eye) through using my best friends mascara. It was a painful and expensive lesson. Play it smart and safe.

Tips & Warnings

* Remember to replace sponges and eye shadow applicators at least once a month.
* Bacteria good or bad live everywhere. Be cautious and careful about sharing your cosmetics.

HOW TO SELECT THE CORRECT FOUNDATIONS MAKE-UP FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE

How to select the correct foundation make-up for you skin type.

MINERAL SHEER TINT MINERAL SHEER TINT

CHOOSING THE CORRECT COLOR AND TYPE OF FOUNDATION CAN BE A DIFFICULT TASK. WITH THE PROPER INFORMATION AND HOW TO'S YOUR SELECTION OF THIS IMPORTANT FACIAL PRODUCT WILL BE MUCH SIMPLER.

Before selecting the proper shade you must consider what your skin type is. Oily, dry, or combination? Knowing your skin type will aid you in the correct formula selection that is perfect for your skin type.
For those that are of the oily skin type your selection of foundation should be one that is oil-free or a formula that helps control oil. For those that are of the dry skin type you might select a formula that is moisture enriched or a hydrating formula. For those of you that are combination skin type you tend to be more oily in the T-Zone of the face, I strongly recommend that you choose an oil free formula as to the moisture enriched, the oil free formulas still contain emollients and will aid in the dry area. Innovations Cosmetics has a mineral sheer tint that is excellent for all skin types.

Once you know you skin type you now can determine what shade is the correct selection for you skin tone. Foundations really should be a perfect match to your skin tone. Foundation is generally used to accentuate the positive and diminish the negative. All in all this can be accomplished and still have a natural look or appearance. Many of us make the common mistake of testing a foundation shade on the back of our hand by blending it into the skin. Most do not take into consideration that your skin on the back of your hand and your facial skin are completely different in texture and tone. That is why when you return home with your foundation and apply the foundation to your face it is not the same shade that it was when you put it on your hand in the store. It is very important that when sampling a shade of foundation that it be tested on the jawline so that you may also blend it down to the neck.

It is important that you be aware of your underlying tones in your skin. Some may notice more of an olive tone and some may notice more of a pink or red tone. Knowing this will help in selecting the exact shade of foundation for you. For those that have an olive cast or undertone you would select a shade that is a little more on the warmer side to help combat the olive. For those that have more of a redness to their tone stay closer to you neutral shades with a little bit of a yellow tone. With foundation you sometime may be able to get away with going a shade darker than your natural. But going to light may cause you to look to pale and washed out. Natural looking is really the best.
It is also very important to select your foundation with an SPF. A foundation doesn't protect against the harmful rays of the sun alone.

ANTIOXIDANTS

How to know what antioxidants are and why are they good for your skin?

ANTIOXIDANTS AND WHAT ARE THEY GOOD FOR.

Antioxidants are found in everything today. Why are they in skin care and cosmetic products? And exactly what are they and what do they do for us?
Antioxidants- a substance that inhibits oxidation or reactions promoted by oxygen, peroxides or free radicals. This substance can be vitamin C and vitamin E. Next we hear about free radicals and what damage they can cause to our skin. What are free radicals? To make it simple they are molecules. These free radicals can be in the body or be outside (tobacco, smoke, toxins, pollutants)that cause cell damage. Normally the body can handle free radicals but if the antioxidants are unavailable this is when the damage can occur.

The antioxidants that are found in skin care and cosmetics usually are vitamin C and vitamin E. Vitamin C is water-soluable found in cellular fluid while combating free radical formulation like pollution and cigarette smoke. Vitamin E aids in keeping the oxygen in the skin. So antioxidants are very important factor for anti-aging.

Most use foundations as to maintain a better looking complexion. But foundations are far more important than that. Having had the small chemistry lesson a factor that hopefully will help you in making the choice to wear foundation is this.....POLLUTANTS!!! THEY ARE IN THE AIR. If you look at it this way by using foundation you are actually protecting your skin from all the POLLUTANTS(FREE RADICALS). You are actually giving your skin a layer of protection with foundation. Instead of the pollutants forming directly on your skin, the foundation gives it a barrier from them. Using a foundation with vitamin E and C you get the added bonus of anti-aging and protection.

Innovations Cosmetics MINERAL SHEER TINT multi-tasks as a foundation, sunscreen SPF, and an antioxidant lotion. It also has an extra boost of multi-mineral complex of magnesium, potassium, zinc, lysine, and other vital elements. It also has the potent antioxidants vitamin E and vitamin C ginkgo biloba and ginseng to fight against those free radicals.
MINERAL SHEER TINT is so ultra sheer. It creates a water-proof veil while leaving a natural glow to the skin.

Tips & Warnings

* MINERAL SHEER TINT IS PERFECT FOR THOSE THAT DO NOT LIKE THE FEEL OF A FOUNDATION.

ALLERGY OR SENSITIVITY TO A COSMETIC

How to know the difference between an allergies and a sensitivity to a cosmetic.

Allergic reactions to a cosmetic can be very rare. These reactions can be isolated. Usually these allergic reactions are due to a substance that you have been already introduced to. You can avoid reaction by not using that cosmetic that may contain the allergen that caused the reaction.

Sensitivity to a cosmetic are so much more common but yet more confusing because it is usually a reaction to more than one substance. Sensitivities tend to be more difficult to isolate. As odd as it may seem, sensitivities tend to be found in your fair skinned or red haired individuals. These are your sensitive prone people. If you fall into this category you may want to stay with unscented products. If you fall into this area you might find it best to read labels before purchasing products. Remember this, it is not only possible for you to outgrow a sensitivity, but that any skin type can become sensitive as it matures.

These are some allergens that are commonly known to create sensitivity.
LANOLIN,VEGETABLE AND MINERAL OILS: BABY OILS,MOISTURIZERS AND SOME SHAMPOOS AND CONDITIONERS use these oils. They are inexpensive and are commonly used in certain products. A lanolin reaction usually produces a dry scaly rash and can produce inflammation.
Lanolin and Mineral oils most generally just lubricate the treated area because of the molecular structure is to large to penetrate.
Vegetable and mineral oils are linseed oil, olive oil, sesame oil, cocoa butter. These are less likely to cause allergies, but due to their heavy concentration of oil they are most likely to cause breakouts.

Tips & Warnings

* If you tend to be sensitive to products and especially parfumes always read the labels of any products before you purchase. Remember, the first few ingredients listed are the ones that the product has the highest volume of. Ex...water
