I agree on this...even as a newbie, I sometimes see videos of dancers and think "that's not belly dance, is it?"

Anyway today Steve and I went to a fundraiser event thing. We had to take the commuter rail to Salem, but it wasn't bad at all. The only part that kinda sucks is trains don't go that often on Sundays, so we had specific ones we had to make. Anyway, I went to a workshop and Steve hung out at a restaurant. The workshop was about ATS, and it was totally everything I wanted ... read more
This is only vaguely dance related. XD Steve keeps giving me compliments, saying how good I look. And he said he's really happy I'm doing dance classes, because it makes me happier and gets me out of the house and also it's hot. XD

Today I got myself some 5-lb free weights (craigslist!win), and I did some stuff with them, but I dunno what I'm doing really. I first wanted to try belly dance when I was a teenager. Maybe 14 or 15. My parents wouldn't let me. I think they had <i>the stigma</i>.
