about me
If you didn't already know, my first American name WAS actually Scarlett. Then 5 years later my mom told a very confused, pigtailed, little kindegarten sized me that she didn't like my name any more and that I was supposed to go to school and tell my teacher that my name was going to be Sehra now.

Ironic, isn't it? Now that my last name is going to be Ohana? Te he he...

Now that I've talked about Scarlett, a little Blurb about the name Sehra:

God I just LOVE talking about ME!

I really like the name Sehra because I am Korean. And in Korean:

"Sahra" means: To Live

"Sahrang" means To Love

and

Sahram means "Person"

Pretty Cool huh?

Random things about me that, unless you're Mike Wonder or Roxy, you probably wouldn't know.

1. I NEED nature. In a very real way, my physical environment affects my mood and my overall well being. I need for my environment to be pretty.

Being out in nature truly calms me and centers me. I have this weird notion that just the stimuli of seeing random patterns in nature, the patterns of leaves on a tree, the patterns of clouds in the sky, these things must trigger some very primal sensation of well being within us.

2. I have a very weird paranoia about dead fish. I don't know why but looking at a dead fish just absolutely sickens and scares me to death. BLeh!

3. My favorite number is the number 31. That number has followed me my whole life. That was the number of my junior highschool locker. It was the number that, by and large, I had written on all my textbooks, I was born on 3-11. My dorm room in college was A31. I've always thought that my 31st year would be life changing and that every year after would be better than the last. It's already coming true and I can't wait to see what's next.

4. I also have a strange paranoia about the number 4. I'm so paranoid about it, that I may even remove this item from my list of random things.

5. I LOVE LOVE LOVE good books, especially those written about women in the deep south, which is weird, because this is an area that I've never physically been to. Sue Monk Kidd is one of my new favorites. And to quote her, she says, if step you out in the cold, you can "wrap a story around your shoulders" to keep you warm. God, isn't that just insanely beautiful? Sometimes, a good book is better than sex.

6. I have a very strange addiction to Tobasco Sauce. Food is entirely incidental. It's just the vehicle for more Tobasco Sauce.

7. I associate numbers with colors and genders.
The number 1 is white and it's male. The number 2 is yellow and it's female. The number 3 is light green and it's male. The number 4 is a darker green and also male. The number 5 is navy blue and male. 6 is purple and male. 7 is cobalt blue and male. 8 is orange and female. 9 is pink and female.
I know, weird eh?

8. I see dead people. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. And no, it's not all in my head. These are things that other people, completely seperate of me, have also verified has having seen or experienced.

9. I hate STUFF. Physical clutter, it makes my mind cluttered. One of my favorite activities is throwing things away. The less I have, the clearer I can think. Plus, I have this notion that you don't own things, they own you. You are the one that has to work to earn the money to get it. You are the one that has to shop for it. You are the one that has to clean it or maintain it. You are the one that has to do something with it once it breaks or you don't want it any more.

10. I was born left-handed. Unfortunately, most Koreans consider this to be some kind of affliction, something that must be immediately corrected. I was made to sit on my left hand until I could learn to write with my right. This is something you should NEVER EVER do to a kid. I read in some psychological journal that it doesn't only affect which hand you write with but it also affects the very way in which you organize your thoughts. No wonder I'm so scatterbrained!

11. I Love to write. Can you tell? It's the one thing that does help me to organize my thoughts. If I wasn't already an interior designer, I would try to get a job as a journalist.

12. I have a crush on Jake Gyllenhall. Yeah, like a junior highschool crush. Something about his blue eyes. There's sincerity behind them. GUSH! Mike's taken to calling him "my boyfriend"!

13. I wouldn't call myself a Buddhist but I LOVE Buddhist principles. Living in the now, not letting things bother you, letting go of guilt, actively cultivating happiness. These are traits that I aspire to and remind myself to strive for every day.

My Blog

My dad always says, if you try to catch 2 rabbits, you'll end up losing them both.

He means that I should try to focus in my life and not pursue so many things at once. I can see his perspective on this but no matter how much I try, I can’t seem to pair down the things in my life that seem important.

I'm a person of many loves, many passions, many pursuits. I can't just drop one for the sake of "focus".

So here's where I am today, and let me tell you that it goes in about a millio... read more

Just sitting here,

drafting, taking my time, doing some floor plans for some bathrooms, looking at this, looking at that, tweeking this, tweeking that, coming up with something that looks pretty damn good. - Singing along to the radio .. "SHE WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY .. SO HARD FOR IT HONEY, SHE WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY SO YOU BETTER TREAT HER R I - IGHT!"

So awesome to be able to to say that I actually like my job.
And super duper awesome to be able to dork out at work.

I woke up today in the best mood.

It all started last night when I remembered something that I'd read. I recently finished reading "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's a fascinating read and if you haven't already read it, I would highly reccomend it. - It's about a woman who travels the world in order to find herself. It's about change but also about being the truest version of yourself that you can be.

In the third portion of her book, she's in Bali and talking to a medicine ... read more

So I’ve never really been a desert person. I like water and trees and green things and life. This whole, the desert is beautiful thing, Nyah, didn’t really get it. The thought of a weekend squatting amongst sand and cactus was less than completely appealing. But the thought of just sitting around the house for a whole, glorious 4 day weekend was even less appealing.

If I had that much time off of work, and I had to sit around the house watching the umpteenth episode of Cash Cab or go ... read more

But last night I had one and I'm not even going to be-gin to interpret it but I just thought I'd share.

So I'm in my bathing suit and I'm at the entrance to this water park. Stephanie and Dacia are throwing a party and there's going to be cake and ice cream and water rides and I'm really excited.

There's even a ride that looks like a gigantic dragon. We get to ride down it's back, up and down over the humps like a big, green roller coaster.

Man, I'm really excited, I really want to ... read more

My Testimonials

October 25, 2006
sehra's so awesome that being called her doppleganger is an extreme compliment. But I think i'm definitely not as cute as her OR sweet (though I strive to be). She has the best taste in style EVER...(since it's so similar to mine)... and if you think that's shallow, then you're not in our doppleganger club and we'll just have to be satisfied that our shoes are cooler than yours.

I have so many warm affectionate fuzzies for her that it is not even funny. She's so genuine, caring, open, and spirited! Sehra makes me giggle because she has a lot of weird little quirks that I can totally relate to. In fact, her testimonial for me is so similar to what I was going to write for her that it is making mine harder to write! And it is creepy. Sehra, stop being so creepy. I LOVE Sehra!

Okay, I have a confession to make. I'm totally in love with you Scarlett!

Just don't tell your husband, okay? We'll sneak off to a little island in the middle of the South Pacific and grow coconuts and raise chickens!

You're the most beautiful, warm, generous, caring, loving, fun, joyous, warmhearted person I've ever met honey. I'm a lucky boy indeed...

Love,
Your Boy Wonder

How Sehra is NOT like Scarlett O'Hara:

Sehra's WAY more beautiful...just look at her!

She's sweet and kind and SUPER FUN!!!

She doesn't look down on anyone with contempt...

She's not a spoiled rich girl who always got what she wanted, except the guy she wanted -- just the opposite: She's DESERVES all the best things in life and has the man she loves (who's awesome, too!) and he loves her back... awwww...<happy sigh> :)

I think of her as my little sister and I'm SUPER FREAKING LUCKY to have her in my life!!!
