Texas here I am

Thanks to my friend, Patty, I had a fun yet uneventful drive out to Texas. We had one little rain cloud hover over us for about 10 minutes and that’s it. We didn’t want to drive straight through so we spent the night in Albuquerque. We arrived in Denton on Wednesday night just in time for a delicious dinner of eggplant parmesan prepared by Greg in anticipation of our arrival. The next day, I sent Greg off to work, leaving Patty and me to explore Denton. We found a small but fantastic candy store from which the two of us purchased a sinful amount of chocolate. GRIN!!! Greg just shook his head at that and then we all proceeded to get tummy aches from eating chocolate. The following morning Greg took the day off from work and he and I drove Patty down to Austin to visit another California ex-patriot friend. We spent the night at the friend’ s house and when we woke we left Patty in her other friend’s care and Greg and I explored Austin for a couple of hours before driving back up to Denton. There wasn’t enough time to even put a dent in seeing that city. But, we are looking forward to having the time to explore Austin some more….perhaps at Halloween.

I have been hired to fulfill some jewelry orders at the same shop that Greg works at. I am working as a real live professional jeweler. It’s a bit intimidating because the projects are a little beyond my experience level. But, I have confidence in my ability to pick things up quickly.

Oh yeah, and the moving company I hired still hasn’t delivered my things. They apologized to me and told me that the truck with my belongings hadn’t even left California yet. They should be delivered to me here in Texas in 3-4 days. Sigh.

Anyways that is it for now……happy, getting paid to do art, and snuggling with the one I love.

Awwww. yay!!!! So awesome for you!!

You are an amazing and talented artist and will do great things making jewelry and anything else you set your mind to - don't be intimidated! :) Knowledge is a process in work. You will figure out a better way to achieve the affects because you haven't been taught differently!

*hugs* Glad you got there safe.

Glad to hear you arrived safely. Texas is a pretty dull state to drive across.
Keep us posted on your adventures. As for experience level, they don't know what your level is, so just act like you know what you're doing until you DO know what you're doing. Works great! And have FUN!

Yay!
Happy you are safe in Texas.
I disagree with Megan-Texas has bigger and better everythings to explore-its not boring at all!
Go visit the caverns!
Or the Pine forrests of east Texas-
or go to Fredericksburg and learn about German Texans (its a lot like Solvang)
Drive up to Amarillo and see the Cadilac Ranch-
Go to Arlington and visit the first ever Six Flags
there are tons of things to see and do :)
