A Little Babble

Re: Trilogy (in Progressive/Art rock) Lol, I probably should have clarified. I meant the 1st part, the Fugue, and the concluding 2nd part. I'm surprised you don't own any ELP yet. Ironically enough, Trilogy is probably the perfect choice for a first ELP purchase.

Re: Trilogy (in Progressive/Art rock) Yeah, that's an awesome song. I love the build-up. That's the title track to the album of the same name. Awesome album too. You'd probably love "The Endless Enigma" also (the opening three-part epic on the album). That's contender for my favorite ... read more

Favorite progressive rock albums (in Progressive/Art rock) This is a spin-off of the very old "favorite prog album of all-time" list. You can choose to list your top favorite albums, or just some or any of your random favorites...from way back when...or now. Let's have at it. Here are my top 5:

Re: Favourite recordings (in Bach) Favorite Bach? Too many to list. But, a few things I absolutely *couldn't* live without:

*Orchestral Suites & Concertos - the 7CD EMI boxed set featuring Menuhin, George Malcolm, and a host of other musicians. It features recordings from as ear... read more

Re: seeking Haydn recommendations (in ""Classical music lovers) Along with some symphonies, etc, you should definitely get familar with his incredible string quartets. Some of my personal favorite quartets of his are the Op. 33 quartets (particularly the 29th in G Major "How Do You Do", and the 30th in E Flat ... read more

Re: Elton John (in JUKEBOX) Hmm...guess there aren't many Elton John fans here. I loved Elton before I even knew I loved him (says my aunt). I own many of his albums. It would take forever to list the many songs I love from him...oh to hell with it...here are a few: "Someone... read more

Re: First Beatles album you ever bought? (in The Beatles) Even though Abbey Road is my favorite, Sgt. Pepper's is still a great album. Even so, Sgt. Pepper's doesn't even rank within my Top 5 favorite Beatles albums.

Nothing Special

Found this when arbitrarily skimming tribe. This article comes from a male poster on craiglist, or something. It's...interesting...to say the least.

Yes it is. It's Autumn time again. This has always been my favorite season, as I feel it correlates with my moods, feelings and temperament. Somehow, everytime during this year, I feel refreshed and rejuvenated, as the scents, colors, and images give me a sense of peace, tranquility and wholeness. It feels the most like home.

Pluto is the “modern” ruler of Scorpio, and many of its concepts and key words are synonymous with those used for Scorpio itself. Pluto represents the “peak, or pit experience,” a deep psychological experience that includes a kind of “dying,” after which we are never again the same. Pluto transits burn our bridges behind us; we can never go back to who and what we were before, and most would not want to. Those foolish enough to try end up really dying, or at best, like Lot’s wife, ossifying, ... read more

...Changes - as David Bowie once said. Indeed, these are what I've been dealing with quite a bit of over the past few months (though, honestly, for the most part, these changes have been good ones.)

I haven't posted very much on tribe during these past few months, although I have dropped by on more than one occasion to view what has been going on here.. on various tribes, etc, etc.

I surprised many when I quit my job a few months back (yes, the job which I posted about in my very last p... read more

...is the main ingredient at my job - particularly in my department. Everyone there, at some point, ends up getting into it with somebody. Today, two of my associates came dangerously close to throwing punches at each other (there was a quick shove, before two of the security guards came in, to break it up.) To be honest, this isn't the first time these two have gotten into it - they've gotten into it *plenty* of times - only this time is when it became at it's most volatile. But, amidst it a... read more
