So I had to make a decision yesterday, how important is "me time"? Well apparently, very important. I regularly teach beginner bellydance 4 times per week, on top of taking 3 classes each week, and performing on an average of once per week. That has worn me out. I heard from my friends and instructor - "take it easy", "learn how to say no", "you'll burn out if you continue", "you have to take time for yourself". Well those words are so true. Yesterday I took the initiative to drop one of my classes that I was teaching at. Attendance was really poor there anyway due to the location, and it was going to take alot of marketing to build that class up to speed. So I declined to continue. I kind of felt guilty, another opportunity elsewhere was presented - yet I had to make a decision. I feel I need an extra day. I feel I need to spend time with my husband and remember what the walls of my house look like and not just the comfort of my pillow. So reflecting on the wisdom of my friends, I agree..."me time" is oh so important.

So I've literally turned into a dance machine. Who would have known that a childhood dream would have turned into a profession? I now teach bellydance at 4 seperate locations per week. My poor husband sees me in little intervals now, and yet he's so supportive of me. I teach Fitness Bellydance at Fitness 2000 located in Watauga and Ft Worth (giving a shout out!) and in Irving, Tx. I also have a bellydance class at Odyssey Theatrical through my director, Nacheska. What an opportunity this is for me because not only am I teaching a dance - an artform - a passion that I just adore, but I'm allowed the freedom to develop my own choreography. I can't be more siked than I am right now. Opportunities are continually opening up - as if God Himself is giving the great nod of approval for this passion. Yippee! Tis the season for lots of shows and bookings. And with that comes the longing for massages, Advil, and at least 8 hours of continual sleep. Busy little dance machine I've become - In a dance craze and loving every minute of it.
