about me
I am a cultural anthropologist and have worked with South American shamans (especially women) for 18 years. Not surprisingly, I have been transformed by these experiences and am in the process (still and always) of integrating what I "know" as an ethnographer into what I "do" in my own life. I am a "Western gal" at heart, having spent most of my life in the American West, Southwest, and Northwest.

The talking feather

I am Bonnie.
I have called myself and been called unto myself. It is time now to respond.

I have come to this place to freely share all I have been given, to learn and listen, and to co-create new possibilities for manifesting our Creator's love with you.
I have come to weave strong the web of our collective service through sharing what I know and through learning how we can work together to create the space for new awakenings.
I have come to affirm my stories of transformation, the insights I have been gifted, and to pose the questions that have been raised along the way...
I am here to laugh and cry, to hold and love, to reach out to all my brothers and sisters and to feel the return of your embrace
I am here to give thanks to the All--Creator, Teacher, Mother--to my family and friends, to all the teachers Seen and Unseen who have guided me to this place
I am here to serve and to be nurtured by your Love

Now tell me, who are you, and why do you come?

My Blog

I am every blade of grass, each newborn child and noonday sun
I am every story of Creation shared
Chanting life with every breath; my song unfolds the world,
As I walk, my shawl grows green upon the hills.

You are every silent owl, each grieving widow and crescent moon
You are every story of Creation shared
Each curse and blessing, rippling outward from the Source,
Re-makes the Heavens according to your prayer.

We are every crashing wave, each sighing wind upon the land
We are e... read more

There is a time for silence and it is now. The snow has folded its heavy arms over mountains, over lake-beds, over an icy river whose course has stopped to mirror that intention.

There is a time for prayer and it is now. Seeds buried deep within the ground gather strength for a future bursting-forth. Even the mighty oaks turn inward, bear silent witness, unafraid to wait.

This is a time of much reflection; a waiting on the miracle. A gestation. A time for nurture, and for gathering... read more

… Be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace….

(Desiderata, Max Ehrmann, c1920).

If only, if only, if only, if only…

Like many, this was my mantra, the drumbeat of suffering and loss that beat my spirit into submission and tears.... read more

Move through me this day
Make me a vehicle for your love
Fill my heart with beauty, my mind with kindness,
my speech and action with your Creation

Your scribes foretold the power of the Word
with us from the beginning,
walking in step together
a manifestation of that love

In the beginning was the Word...
and we are blessed for having it
to share your Love
to do your Love
to be your Love

Let all the places where I walk be ones of comfort and belon... read more

Today, I have realized once again how strong is the web that knits us all together. My dad (who is 84 and almost blind due to macular degeneration) made a request of me just before Christmas. This is unusual for him...he comes from that Depression era, Western "frontier" attitude of independence and self-reliability so I was surprised. The request was that he wanted to see his younger brother in New Mexico for Christmas, and since he can no longer drive, he wanted us to take him there. It had... read more

Honoring my teacher

My teacher Ysabel (on the right) and her assistant Olinda. They have patiently given of themselves for me since 1988.

Lagunas

Sacred lagoons in S. Ecuador and N. Peru like this one are at great risk because of the Rio Blanco Mine. I hope to do ceremonial work to protect, honor, and strengthen these lagoons, which are nothing less than portals to the All, later this summer.
