Quick answers to the FAQs

1) The answer is Bacon. Or chocolate. Or chocolate-covered bacon made from vegan, cosmo-drinking bunnies. Free-range, of course.

2)Apologies to the cool dudes-
For the guys that keep emailing weird stuff to me:
NO means NO. Please take the moment to actually read my profile if you want to friend me. You might find out that I'm with someone I'm very much in love with, and we're not poly with males. Capiche?

3) Friendships are different. I like to think of friendships based on commonalities. If we've spoken on tribe or had a dialog, that's a whole different issue. Sweet. Welcome to opening up a world of cool shit, boi, grrl, man or woman, or whatever you define yourself as. Nice to meet you.

4) I'm a Sag/Cap cusp. Good luck figuring that one out.

Trails and Tales:

Wow.
Just wow.

UCSF has started in full swing for me, and every day I am amazed at what we're learning. To update anyone, this program is the usual 2 to 2.5 year RN program, condensed into 1 year, and then half the class goes straight through to a Master's (Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist) while the other half takes a step-out year, works as an RN, and then goes back into the Master's portion. I'm in the latter category, as I'm specializing in Acute Care/trauma, so I am re... read more

A reminder to be proud of who you are,
especially this weekend.

Even if you're stuck reading pathophysiology. :p

(Though maybe I'll crawl out of my cave for a second...)

It's river season, and I'm enjoying every last second of it before school begins.

Here's me and Rufus, playing around on the Kings River, a beautiful run in the Southern Sierras. That was an awesome day. Paddling together was incredibly fun, and our time down there was all about connecting with each other and with such a beautiful place.

I'm off again to the Tuolumne (so is he), where the flow just increased dramatically, which should make the Class 4/5 run even more exciting!

I know... read more

My heart is aching, but
You're too shy to say it (say it)

etc.

Saw this on a "born in the '70s" group I belong to.
I can't stop singing it now.

Things that you do when you're not allowed to run around and play outside...

Sigh.
So, tomorrow morning (Tuesday) at 8:45am, I get to have root canal repair. My right front tooth (#8 if you know the anatomical order) has had a dead nerve since I was 3 and decided to run around the swimming pool in fins - and knocked out my front teeth. Nice, huh?
10 years ago, I had a root canal done on it.
Apparently, the stuff they used 10 years ago doesn't seal as well as it does nowadays, so I have an abscess at the top of the tooth, and they have to go in, get all the old stu... read more
