AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!
Mon, February 11, 2008 - 9:17 AMDid they give us any notice that this was going to happen? NO!!!!!!!! So now it's 30 minutes before I have to go to work and I can't get out!!!!!! I'm PISSED!!!!!!
Thanks for letting me rant, just needed to get that off my chest.

That's just crazy! I don't think some places like to give notice. I was parked out on the street one day....along with several other cars. I came out a few hours later and I had a ticket because they posted signs saying that you couldn't park there due to road work. They conveniently put the signs up after I parked. I went downtown to explain what happened and got out of the ticket but that wasn't cool at all.

Being a heavy equipment operator,
and, in the past, even being foreman of jobs like the one you're talking about, I have been the one in charge of the postings. I truly did everything in my power to work with people, understanding the inconveience we were causing. But many foremen don't pay so much attention. Or the work may have been unexpected. Just be glad they didn't turn off the water while you were in the shower.

when i got home, there was a guy and some trucks on our street, putting in paint marks and little tiny flags everywhere...hmmmm, are we next!?

simular thing happened to me. They paved the street in front of our old house.. they started 30 minutes early !!! Luck the night before wehad move the vehicles down the street so they would not get parked in.. but when they paved early.. I came out to go to work and had no where to walk. I "convinced" the workers it was better for me to go to work, then to bug them all day - so they got out rags and covered the ground for me to walk on.. step by step =-)
