about me
40 isn't old...if you're a tree. Just lookin' to get my fix of the Black Rock magic by pitching in however I might. Skillls include promptness and long-term memory. Short term memory is questionable. Wait, are these skills or traits? Math skills faulty. Spelling ability OK. Sense of direction typically excellent. Able to walk an indefinite distance. I don't want your spotlight. In fact, I might just hold it for you if the moment calls for it. Able to shut the fuck up and get the job done. Occasionally on time. So you see, I have a lot to offer.

Gad I Love Steampunk (Riginally posted eslewhere 11-08-2005) (blog entry) Movies: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Great Race

Watched "The Great Race" this weekend. I am sure it was hysterical at the point in time it was released, and it still has its moments, but I just don't fully appreciate slapstick.

Love and Rockets said it this way... (blog entry) And I was dreaming in my sleep
Saw through you all
And I was dreaming still on my feet
Saw through you all

And I saw what you could be
And you just don't feel free

And I saw what you could be
But you just won't be real to me

Don't fall
- The Chameleons

I fell. I listened to this song twice in the week proceeding my fall out of a tree I was pruning. It was about a ten foot fall. A branch I was climbing down on snapped, and the tight grip I thought I had turned out to be not so tight. I slammed down to ground at the bottom of the tree and for a moment, thought it was over. Then I slid off the rockery the tree was perched on... read more

This woman. I did not know this woman.I cannot accurately describe her attributes, nor do justice to her dimensions. She was . . . not a person but a whole kind of person, the ones who crossed the ocean, who brought with us to America the villages of Russia and Lithuania – and how we struggled, and how we fought, for the family, for the Jewish home, so that you would not grow ... read more

What I do fully appreciate is Dr. Fate's mutant vehicle. Actually, all of Dr. Fate's contraptions are an inspiration. I'll try to find images to post.

The high point of Fate's gadgets is of course, the car he races from New York to Paris, via the Nor... read more

Art Project Log #1
This relates to non-artists, like myself, making art for Burning Man. Many attend Burning Man for the mind blowing art that cannot exist anywhere else but the vast desert setting where Burning Man takes place. And yet much of the art there is not mind-blowing. Some of it is downright bad. Course, that's all in the eye of the beholder. But more importantly, Burning Man give non-artist a chance to make something and subject it to public viewing. SInce the entire settin... read more

So let's blame this excess
On an American dream
So let's blame the success
Of an American dream

Are you confused by the chaos
In everyones wandering eyes
Do you dream of running naked
In warm rain
Are you confused by the chaos
It's no, it's no sur... read more
