Just a reminder that I’ll have a booth at next weekend’s (August 23rd and 24th) 7th Annual Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival. The Festival is right next to the Morse Avenue Red Line station, and (for all my relatives) is just a few blo... read more

Post Fair Report (blog entry) Well, I certainly had high hopes for my first art fair of 2008. I had a lot of nice pieces to sell; I think my work has improved a lot since last summer. My pieces are thinner and lighter than they used to be, and I’ve been experimenting wit... read more

First Art Fair (blog entry) June 16, 2008

So now the naked bike ride is done (a full report on that is forthcoming as I gather my thoughts and catch the gossip from other riders) and I can concentrate on the next big thing….my first art fest for the summer.

Next week... read more

My Blog

Hey, folks:

Just a reminder that I’ll have a booth at next weekend’s (August 23rd and 24th) 7th Annual Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival. The Festival is right next to the Morse Avenue Red Line station, and (for all my relatives) is just a few blocks from Mom & Dad’s house—so you can combine a trip to the Fest with a visit to Mom! My booth (Booth #14) will be along Glenwood Avenue, just north of Morse Avenue.

The Fest runs from noon to 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The festival’s free, t... read more

Well, I certainly had high hopes for my first art fair of 2008. I had a lot of nice pieces to sell; I think my work has improved a lot since last summer. My pieces are thinner and lighter than they used to be, and I’ve been experimenting with interesting twisted and swirled forms. I also priced everything pretty reasonably; most of my work was between $5 and $20. And I learned a bit from last year, and hoped that the booth setup and placement would encourage more sales. This year I’d be... read more

So now the naked bike ride is done (a full report on that is forthcoming as I gather my thoughts and catch the gossip from other riders) and I can concentrate on the next big thing….my first art fest for the summer.

Next weekend I’ll have a booth at the Custer’s Last Stand Festival of the Arts in Evanston, at Main Street and Chicago Avenue, right off the Main Street Purple Line station. It’s the third year I’m doing this fair, and I always have mixed feelings about it. ... read more

So far I’ve applied to 2 Art Fairs for this summer; the Custer Street Art Festival in Evanston on June 21st and 22nd, and the Skokie Art Guild Fair in Skokie on July 12th and 13th. Just got my acceptance letter from the Skokie Art Guild, so that’s one. I expect, since they’ve voted me into the Custer Fair for 2 years running, that I should get into that one as well.

I’m still waffling about doing a third art fair in August, but we’ll see—it’ll depend on how productive I am in the studi... read more
