Resist Much, Obey Little

about me
Quick to make light of most situations, I often take myself too seriously. Although it was my resolution to not mock others’ happiness, I cannot shake the running sarcastic narrative that rolls through my head. Sorry world, but I find most of the fish in this big social fish tank amusing. Much to my own chagrin at times, I am one of the more prominent clownfish. I am a stickler for certain social etiquettes and can seem either too standoffish or judgmental. This makes first impressions difficult. The combination of being a total spaz and at times painfully shy is a neat trick. I’m sure I did something wicked in a past life..hehe. I am proud to say that I am a good Dad. I love my little squirrel to death and have worked very, very hard to ensure that since I wasn’t able to take over the world, she has the tools to do so. As I have had the typical American up-bringing, I have a somewhat loose concept of family. The result is that I am blessed with an abundance of friends that are as close as or closer to me than those that share my wacky family shrub. This has been passed on to my daughter, who now has an amazingly wonderful, nurturing and well armed for future romantic dealings, group of Aunties and UnKl3s. I am very outdoors oriented, but have developed a Videodrome like symbiosis with my technology. My sarcasm usually offends those that don’t know me, as does my love of being straightforward. Secretly, I abhor being an accomplished asshole, but hey, go with what you’re good at. I read a lot. I watch too much TV. I babble when nervous. I babble when not. You get the point. I have a complicated set of rules for everything, and never give anybody the rulebook. I love people and can’t stand them. I’m sure that if I didn’t think prescription drugs were scarier than any of the illegal shit I’ve done, I’m sure I would be a psycho pharmaceutical poster boy. Tequila makes me crazy but scotch is my homey. My friends and family are the reward, I am the punishment. On that dramatic note, hey, how you doin?
And I love big hugs, my dogs, and Christmas music.
Cheers

Feel the need to wear a poncho, while indoors?
Tired of your new, pristine, white cons?
Miss the refreshing high pressure arterial spray of blood that hits just before you can close your mouth?
Crave the distorted view of hot doctors and emotionally unstable heroines as seen through the blood splattered tarp you hold like a blankie?

This is the event for you.
I went, I saw, I left soggy.
Get your lurch on.

Apparently, free cookies are no longer enough incentive for people to give blood, so American Red Cross officials in two states are offering something else: gasoline.

In Pennsylvania and New Jersey, blood donors have a chance to win their cars' lifeblood. For giving a pint of their blood, they are entered into a drawing for a $25 gasoline card. That's dollars, not gallons, so hurry and donate before prices go up.
