huh...wuh? Me? DO I LIKE TO DRINK? you say....well that's a silly question...... I can suck down more whiskey in a night than a 5 horned rhinocerous. I'm betting there's some other people who like to drink out there too.....people like me...who like to stumble into camp at 3am or 3pm to find a well stocked bar.....social people who like to bring people back to camp for some drinking and lounging......silly people who like to mix up bizarre concoctions and serve them to their friends. any way you slice it, having a steady flow of boozins is good for camp morale. but boozin ain't cheap or easy...it takes some money to collect and transport it all out THERE to the playa. "BUT WAIT" sez you..."I'M just one person...what can I do?" well.....we here at the Gigsville Saloon and Whorehouse have set up a convenient paypal address so that people can donate money to the Bar fun(d). For just pennies a day you can sponser a shot of vodka for some cute candy raver or a couple fingers of scotch for that MILF from two camps down....your donation will be greatly appreciated and just think of the satisfaction you'll get in knowing that you helped to get yourself, your friends, and probably a large number of people you don't even know, good and sloshed while at Burningman. So I managed to stay in every night this week.....I did it on purpose....I rented the entire season of Nip/Tuck to make sure I wouldn't get bored and abort the mission. I've got to say....stayin in sux. But that might just be because I've been riding the rollercoaster for the past 2-3 months....culminating in the past couple weeks of pure and unadulterated insanity. I knew logically that I needed to ground myself....but gdmmit it's just no fun. I remember having the same problem when I took time off doing shows in Dallas....I was annoyed that I was missing everything socially because I was always ass deep in a show...so I'd turn down a project or two with the idea that I'd have a social life for a few months....and the same thing always happened....I got so freaking bored. It hasn't been that bad during the past year of hiatus...but that's because I've been filling my time with other projects, and fucking gigsville has the social calendar of the century, and I've been spending a lot of time with Normal. but Normal is leaving and while there are a few projects on the horizon....they are fairly long term and not going to be too time consuming right now. I think I need that constant push of a deadline....I feed off of the stress.....it feels so flippin good at the same time it's eating away your insides and stripping years off your life. yeah....I've got to start putting on shows again. got to. need it.

Below is a email I just got from my cousin Joyce, who is a professor at UC Irvine.....all the details are below and more are on the site that the link takes you to...."Roberta" was my mom......she died at age 39 as a result of complications from Breast cancer that Metastisized and spread to her bones, specifically on her spine. I had no idea Joyce was working on this......to think that something that could benefit so many people could come as a result of my mom's illness makes me really happy....I'd love to see them have the chance to be able to bring this product to patients.....so vote, send it on to friends, spam it all over...... lub, Slinky ********** Greetings from UC Irvine. I am involved in a business plan competition for bringing a product to market. My company is called "Bone Rad Therapeutics" and includes several other professors and two of my students. We are in the finals which will be held Friday, May 18. Part of the result will be based on online voting via the link below. Our product is for patients with tumors in bone and is described on the website for the competition. It would be especially useful for people with breast or prostate cancer whose cancer has spread to the spine. I came up with this idea as a result of knowing that Roberta had metastases in her spine and needed radiation therapy. That thought stuck with me and then evolved into this invention which I developed in collaboration with surgeons and radiation oncology experts at UCI. Flipside Flamingos

I know a lot of folks told me they were waiting til they got paid to donate to the flamingo fund....I just wanted to give a heads up....I'm going to place the order this week......we're up against the wall as far as getting them delivered in time for the event......so here it is........we currently have enough in the fund for about 30 flamingos...I'd love to see that number get over 50. There will be a flamingo decorating workshop on Friday out at Flipside. You will be able to take flamingos home with you after the event if you so desire, and all Flamingo Patrons will recieve a thank you card and photo of the completed project post event. thanks again to those of you who have already donated. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Flipside Flamingos

thanks to the peeps that donated thus far......we are currently up to 40 flamingos.....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! I'm prolly going to place the order on May 1st.....so if anybody else wants to throw a couple o dollars at the project that would be groovy. smooches, Slinky ********************************* FLAMINGOS AT FLIPSIDE Part of the Art Project that I'm making for Flipside includes the vision of a field of 100-200 Pink plastic Flamingos.......looking at my finances I see that I can probably only personally afford a fraction of that. In previous discussions I've suggested to people that if they wanted to they could each bring 1-2 flamingos [about a $7 investment] and plant them in the Trailer Park lawn......now I'm thinking that 1) we get a much better deal overall if we buy in bulk - and if the money was all pooled we'd end up with more flamingos. 2) people that are travelling long distances aren't necessarily going to want to make room for Flamingos in their luggage when they have so many other fun things to bring. So my answer is this.....I've set up a paypal account.....and if anyone wants to they can donate. 100% of the funds collected will go towards buying a mess of flamingos. If at any point we reach a number that would put us over 200 flamingos I will send out an announcement and stop accepting donations [I'm not greedy ;) ] . At the end of the event, anyone from the community who wants to can feel free to take as many flamingos as they want home with them.
