about me
Bellydance instructor, performer and choreographer. I have endless appreciation for my teachers, Andrea Anwar, Elena Lentini and Aszmara...among others. I have a BA in Psychology from SUNY Purchase and MA in Counseling from Fordham. In a nutshell, I'm about dance, animal rights, herbal teas and baking. I thoroughly enjoy laughing until my side hurts and dancing every day.

Re: Info on Omega-3s....
(in Bellydance Health, Fitness, and Anatomy)
I give fish oil to my cat for his asthma which helps, but use flaxseed for myself. One precaution worth mentioning is that if you have any kind of disorder with blood clotting/thinning (or bruise easily), you should talk to your Dr. first. I was...

Recently, I decided that I needed something "fresh" to represent growth in my dance career. My previous photos didn't showcase the newer costumes I'd purchased or demonstrate my familiarty with props, so I thought a photo shoot would be the right investment at this time. I am constantly inspired by the devotion that my fellow dancers have shown in looking professional and updating their websites, photos or costumes. Today's bellydancers are so savvy in the marketing department and I really...

So late I need to change on the FDR (while driving...kids, don't try this at home). No time to park, throw the hazzards on and run inside. Thankful my friend can park it for me. Ahhhh...cue music, all stress is forgotten. Run, next show is in 30 minutes!!! Can't find parking. Ahhh...my buddy helps me get ready, pinning and adding glitter to all the right places. Dancing with friends. What could be better? Life is good ; ) ... read more
Those who know me know that I'm not happy unless there's a delicious smell coming from my oven. Lately, I've been too busy to indulge my passion for creating desserts. Today, I've made the old standby...the dessert that no one can refuse because it's, well, sort of healthy. Sure, I love experimenting with different buttercream frostings and making designs with a pastry bag, but sometimes it's the simple things that are the most comforting. When I need a pick-me-up, I bake banana bread and...

Call me crazy. I don't mind. Some of you will think I'm nuts for spending money (when I don't have it to spare) on a reading with a pet psychic. Sometimes, you just gotta live and spend your dough on something fun and unusual. I had a wonderful hour on the phone with an animal communicator who told me some very cool things about my little brown cat. For starters, she's a fan of jazz...Joao Gilberto in particular. She requested to hear more "soft music." Via the pet psychic she recalled...

So, yesterday I got to dance at a rehabilitation hospital for patients with brain injury. I performed for a sea of wheelchairs, and saw many smiling faces. My students made me so proud, being beautiful representations of a dance troupe. I am so lucky. What a treat to spend pre-Mother's day with these delightful people. This summer I have the pleasure of choreographing a bellydance scene for Shakespeare on the Green (CT). This year is Romeo and Juliet, with Romeo be... read more
