about me
Yes. I have a bag over my head. who I am is not important unless you are the BurningMan LLC who would fire me if they knew who I was. Probably I will never work for them again anyway because they are so dysfunctional and corrupt. However I feel it important to voice my opinion and provide a place for other disrespected and disenfranchised workers to tell their stories. I am not doing this for myself or personal glory, but to help my friends who are still employed by Burning Man and redress some of the wrongs committed to me and the people I care about.
$35,000 for a 20 hour work week vs. $35 a day for you..grunt worker.

Inside the Alamo Square apartment of Larry Harvey, the co-founder and impresario of Burning Man, there is a wooden statuette of Ganesh, the Hindu deity known for his patronage of arts and science.
The expensive artifact was part of a splurge Harvey allowed himself three years ago, when he finally was able to redecorate his rental apartment and turn it from the paper-infested swamp h...

I've always joked about that for years while working as a DPW manager. Unfortunatly its too late, most new DPW are pretty clueless as to just how much they're getting reamed by the LLC, Last year there was a definitive labor action though it remains to be seen how many of those involved will be rehired in paid positions. With Flynn's resignation the LLC reconsolidated its hold over th...

The recent Jet Blue debacle has, once again, taught any large organization a very valuable lesson - jumping out in front of a moving train with lots and lots of info and a well thought out plan (and apologies if needed) before it picks up steam is the best way to derail the train and calm the troops. This ...

I do believe that the Borg are generally a caring bunch of people, but I also know that they don’t take criticism well. And well, they do make errors in judgment at times. And, fuck yeah, they could take much, much better care of their workers. They are not wholey evi...

Troll or not, there is something to be said about how well some of the volunteers have been dealt with or handled. Burning Man has a plethora of volunteers, a nearly unlimited supply of people in the talent pool. This causes them to make hasty decisions with sometimes little regard for the human beings that work hard to make things happen for the machine.
I site my own example in regards to the demise of the Black Rock Gazette. We had a scheduled meeting in San Francisco for the Gazette. ...
