A Disparity
There is a disparity between self and how others percieve that self. Sounds simple, maybe even cliche, but something clicked in me recently, and I hadn't realized how much other's perceptions were effecting my thought pattern, behavior, or even self worth. I have something planned for myself that is better than what they'd believe. I can control my own reality, despite the gravity of the immediate influences in my life."Have a good time all the time"
It's not just a quote from Spinal Tap. It's a philosophy. Even when we're working hard, there's no reason we can't have a good time doing it.Meat Puppets
Just bought a ticket to their show!Where did I go?
You ever feel like someone's ripped your soul out of your body and replaced it with something wretched, irritable and dull? Yeah I have not been myself the past week. Even I don't like me lately. Is it because of my flu, changing brain chemicals, the planets aligning unfavorably? I have no idea. But wisdom would say that this too shall pass.Lavender Diamond
I just bought their first album. Most excellent.Dream of the Week
There was a bicycle with a dead smushed rat on top of it. There was a snake that really wanted to get to the rat...I think he was actualy talking about it, eager like a dog. So I gave the snake a boost and he attacked the dead rat with his fangs, and almost chewing on it like a dog would with a toy.Quote of the Day
Most things worth while are obtained through some difficulty. This should not discourage but rather encourage with the idea that after these difficulties, what one is trying for will indeed come to fruition.--me
"The Constants"
you can take everything awayand think there's nothing left
but there's always a space
I sold the furniture
I took down the tawdry wallpaper
I scubbed the entire place down with Ajax
yes, I turned away the house guests
there's no couch in my white box to crash on
but dear friend
ignore my rejection

"The License"(another poem circa 1998)
my artistic licenseisn't factory produced
I didn't take it off the line
and sew it to my shirt
it's a birthmark
that I suffered for
throughout my life
I had to grow into it
I did not simply take it
to wear it at the most convenient time
you can't slip into this
you can't get it tattooed when the time seems right
and most of all
you cannot abandon it when you look a fool
so look again
and you may get confused
on whether to envy me or not

A rather old poem and etching of mine
"Masquerading Disinterest" circa 1998?Sad to lose
Sad to gain
Pick a flower
It's my refrain
You were dead in my hand
I was dead in your hand
Never knowing how silently it sleeps
Never sowing what it reaps
Never showing dreams, it sleeps
In days of new, one seed I keep
I tread withered petals in snow
But I can't choose it's date to sow.
