about me
I spent 20 years in the Air Force, retired in 1992 (seems like eons ago) and moved back to North Carolina - where my parents were both born and raised. My Parents had moved back in 1986.

Met my hubby about 2 weeks after I moved back. (he's number 3 - long story hehehe) We've been together ever since - 13+ years.

I have 2 sons - the oldest is 31, is a computer geek and lives in Amsterdam (yes the netherlands) and the youngest is 26 and is a selling machine here in Charlotte.

I have 2 bonus kids (my hubbys) a son that's 22 and lives with his long time honey and then there's the only GIRL!!!!! She just turned 20 and has had more trauma and drama in her life than most 50 year olds. Alot because of her own decisions but some just 'cuz life happens. Needless to say she was our little rebel but at the moment she's back in the fold.

About three and a half years ago we moved into our dream house and two weeks later I started experiencing pain in my left butt cheek when I bowled - back and forth to the doctor - bed rest, pain meds, pain got worse, 6 months later I started having pain in the right butt cheek too.

Diagnosed with sacral fractures (that's the bone above your tail bone). June 02 I went to Wake Forest and had the fractures glued - felt great for over 2 months, was back to normal and best of all NO PAIN!!!

Sept 02 - walking out of WalMart I felt like someone hit me across the lower back with a 2X4. Brought be to my knees in the parking lot - Some old man helped me to my car. Been in pain ever since.

Eventually went to half days at work and in Dec 04 had to stop working - thank god for short term and long term disability.

At this point the long term disability company is processing me to collect social security. I wear narcotic patches 24/7 for the pain but still have pain constantly. Medical people rate pain on a 10 point scale with 10 being the worst pain. Even with the patches my pain is always around a 3 or 4.

My husband should receive the Husband of The Year award - he's been awesome!!!!
