I am a journeyman electrician. I work with men all day, all week long, and I sometimes feel like I'm neglecting the woman in me. Since I've started bellydancing and putting together the costumes for it, a long-lost femininity has surfaced in my life. I encourage women to pursue any occupation they wish, for better wages, benefits & retirement, but I would also remind them to be true to themselves as women.

So, when I chose this statement as my guiding light, little did I know I would have to make myself believe it. So, between having trouble with a fellow electrician/instructor last year and now, my husband of 12 years and I have divorced. There is something to be said for 'first' knowing who you are enough to be 'second' true to yourself. I think in this day and age, with technology bringing to us everything we need to know, want to hear and see, and even stuff we don't, we've lost track of how to know ourselves enough to be true.
