This weekend, Lupin Lodge is hosting the Los Gatos Earthdance celebration. Duane and I are setting up a pretty camp in the Glade, and we welcome anyone who's interested to co-camp with us. I'm planning on doing morning yoga classes, and afternoon poolside lounging. But the nights, the nights are for dancing! Lupinite Cindy and I share the Libra birthday of 9/30, so we're planning to lift a glass in toast to each other when we're there. Come join us! 
I closed a 3-year chapter of my life at the Burn this year. It's something I'd planned to do but, in typical Playa fashion, it did not go down as planned. It did, however, go down, and beautifully so.

When I just have to get out of the house and get my blood moving, I walk a route that goes right out my back door, past a golf course and into the county park, where it marches up a series of tight switchbacks. At the top of the hill, the road emerges onto a high moor with small picnic area and lovely views out over the surrounding hills. A few years ago, I went rafting on the American River's South Fork class 4 rapids. Our guide was very good, but she managed to drive our raft up against a rock wall, partially flipping it and tossing all out of the raft but her and me. After we'd fished everyone out of the water, pulled them back into the raft and gotten back underway, she confided to us that the wall where we crashed was the same wall where her bf had flipped a raft 2 days prior.
