My Blog

Hello! Its Summer 2009 and time for an update. Oh no.. I don't keep up with my profile here much.. its in need of an update!
I'm keeping busy with belly dance classes, teaching every day & evening. Also I love to choreograph almost as much as I enjoy improvisation.. so I do lots of work on choreography too. Performances have been plentiful this year, despite the horrid economy. I can't say the same for classes; seems that we cut out the things that we do for ourselves first... so not as many... read more

I've been cured, momentarily, of the bad breath of death at my neck. Yes, I'm sure I'll be humbled and stumbled again by the spectre of the grim reaper. My heart has been broken this year, and that will not disappear. Yet... let me relate this experience of recent event that has given me new strength and laughter.
The Coffin Ride
At HallowCon this year, after we danced, Desiree' and I went to the room parties. On the balcony of the ConNooga Suite, I found a coffin!

My grandfather died at the end of June, just before his 83rd birthday. My baby snake, Chiftitelli, died the first week of August (attacked by my cats, who broke into the room and crushed the top of the cage). My 16-year-old cat, Anna, died August 8th (seizures; cause unknown).
Three funerals, and a broken heart x3.

Baby Ball Python... she has beautiful markings, including little dots down her spine and a heart shape! I'm loving my new snake friend, and just fed her the first meal at my house today. Very exciting. She is about 1 foot long. Just a baby. I don't even have any pictures yet... since I don't own a camera, I need help on that one. But soon! I'll post and you can see her. Or visit me if you live nearby.
I'm also trying to find the right name... so I'll announce that later too! Of course sugges... read more

My grandfather took his final breaths... He was surrounded by family who love him dearly.
I was very close to him, and had been visiting him and helping him for the past couple of years.
He was in a nursing home, and had been suffering from Parkinsons disease for more than 12 years.
He was an exceptional person, with a quiet, clever wit and generous heart. I miss him tremendously.
Herchel Babb would have been 83 on Sunday July 1st. He was married to my gran... read more
